We booked our reservation at the recommendation of a "friend of a friend" and couldn't have been more satisfied with our stay. The rooms are tastefullly decorated, each with a historic theme. We stayed in the Joshua Chamberlein room which provided a spectacular view overlooking the harbor and the famous red boats of Belfast. The first morning I awoke to the foghorn - what a trip for an Illinois girl like me! Each room has a fireplace, which would have been welcome had it not been for our unseasonably high temperatures that summer. The food was scrumptious. We stayed 4 nights and each breakfast was original and beautifully presented. Had we not been in Maine to visit friends we would have enjoyed nothing more than to relax on the large porch all day or visit the boutiques at the historic downtown just a few blocks away. Trish and Mary Ellen rock!

My husband and I stayed at the harbor View House June 19th as we were visiting family in the area and it was also my 50th birthday. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and lovely location. The hosts are very helpful without intrusion. The breakfast was the real thing -fresh fruit, wonderful eggs with salmon and and homemade lemon-poppyseed muffins! We ate on the terrace overlooking the harbour. The location is ideal for walking exploring the town and dining. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone staying the Belfast area!

“A VERY Lovely Bed and Breakfast!!!”

I stayed at The Harbor View House the end of September 2004. It is a wonderfull Bed and Breakfast!!! Trish and MaryEllen the Innkeepers, are very charming and friendly. The Breakfasts are FABULOUS!!! In the evenings there is a little nook with coffee, teas and the most EXCELLENT homemade hot chocolate mix and ALWAYS assorted cookies or brownies, DELIGHTFULL!!! (and you have SO MANY adorable tea cups to choose from!!!)
The rooms are very pretty, all done in a colonial, simple, style, which is a nice change from all the Victorian B&B's out there.
I stayed in the "Abigail Davis Room". It has two twin beds, it is fairly large, with a little TV. The bath (private) was in the hall, (all the other bedrooms have "ensuites") which was OK, it was spacious too.
I reccomend HIGHLY staying at The Harbor View House if you are ever in Belfast, Maine!!
