King suite was $80 not bad hotel is close to shopping, clean rooms, friendly staff! Would stay again!

We often travel to Bangor and this hotel is our first choice of places to stay. It is clean and comfortable and close to shopping centers and restaurants. It is not fancy, and it lacks the refrigerators and microwaves that many hotels have, but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff at the front desk has been friendly and courteous. The breakfast is typical of most continental breakfasts. The breakfast room is small is crowded. The room we stayed in could use a soft, comfortable chair and better lighting. There is a sign in the lobby that this hotel will become a Quality Inn the first of the year.

On arrival, the desk clerk was snippy and rude. This is not usual in Choice Hotel properties but I guess this is the exception that proves the rule. The hotel is old and perhaps a couple of years away from renovation but it is handy to Bangor's shopping area.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely not.

Came to Maine to shop at the Freeport Outlets, and just to get away, and chose the Comfort Inn Bangor as our home base. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful, offering coupons as well as a nice list of places to eat and shop in the area. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was clean. The hotel is not luxury, but it is very nice for a budget hotel. Excellent location with all of the best shopping and restaurants well within reach. We will be back for sure!
