We were caught with no room during the balloon festival. I cannot describe the horrible conditions of this room. We walked in to dirty beds that had been slightly straightened back, no toilet paper and kitchen towels for bath towels. The dust was so thick on everything that we knew it couldn't have been cleaned in a very long time. We had to actually go out and buy our own sheets to put on the bed. I used a can of lysol in this room and it still stunk. The toilet was not bolted to the floor and the bathroom window was stuck open so we froze all night. The carpet was so filthy. We stayed in room 14 and our friends were in 11 and 15. I thought I had the worst room imaginable but 11 was so full of urine that all the lysol in the world couln't help. The bathtub was so black at the bottom (she was scared to get in at all). Do not stay here!!!

The location is good because it's just off the freeway but that's it. We got in about 11:30pm and it was bad from the start. The first room we were given looked ok going in but before we took our stuff out the car, we saw roaches on the pictures on the wall and crawling bed also. We told the front desk clerk and she gave us the key to another room.
Room #2 had a car parked in front of the door, so I went and got the clerk to let her know, and she went banging on the door. A lady opened it and she told me and the lady she was sorry she forgot that she had given it to someone. Room #3, as soon as we got in the room and looked beside the bed on the floor it was a USED womens personal item !!
That was the last straw so we let the lady know we were not staying and she still didn't
give us our money back!!! She said that we were given three rooms already and we should try another one. This was about 11:50 pm now.We did contact the VPD and i do have the police report that i filled out.

We have seen negative comments about the Budget Inn in Vidalia and true enough, it is a work in progress, but the staff went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasent one. We were so busy all we did was sleep in the room. Vidalia has really changed and when we return we hope to stay at the Budget Inn. Sister and the Cleaning Crew were there whenever we needed them.

I had read an online review about this hotel that said it was "okay" if you were "passing through". I beg to differ.

I understand that not everyone has the same concept of what constitutes cleanliness, but this motel certainly needs to "Raise the Bar"! The word, FILTHY, comes to mind as it had not been cleaned at all! The bed was sort of "made" but the mussed sheets had not been changed from the former occupant! The bedspreads were...here's that word again, FILTHY! The bathroom sink was decorated with large dried dollops of red toothpaste and the floor had a generous shedding of long black hair. The bottom of the mini fridge was muddy and the dirty carpet was littered, clear that it had not been visited by a vacuum cleaner for some time.

Oh the positive side, the hotel proprietor was very nice and friendly. The room was large and the furnishings were not bad.
