Made my initial reservations on Dec. 1, 2011. This is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms. Had to call that Monday, Dec. 5th to move my reservations back a day. Made my call thru 411 since traffic on I-65 in north Mobile is hectic to say the least. The agent at the hotel checked my reservations, said it would be no problem to move them back a day and he would take care of it. Wed. night I get to the hotel and find out nothing was ever done to my reservations and they hotel cancelled. They could not rebook as they were full. I called the 1-800 number for reservations and they found the phone call I made to the hotel via information, even tho the hotel denied such a call was ever made. Talked to a supervisor and he offered to put me up in their low end hotel in Natchez, where I have stayed before - it was a fleabag. he gaave a number to Customer Relations and I talked to a Cathy. In a nutshell, she said nothing could be proven, so nothing would be done.

I'd like to return to this hotel just to sit in front of the picture window in our room and watch the boats and the water roll along. It's a wonderful view day or night....very relaxing and theraputic.
I'm a stickler for a clean room and especially a clean bathroom, and I was not disappointed. If there is dirt, grime, crumbs, or hair, I will find them. If there is mildew, I will smell it. No complaints here....I felt completely at ease putting my children in the tub.
The indoor swimming pool wasn't quite so clean, but it was acceptable. The water was too cold as some other reviewers have noted. My only other complaint about this hotel is the cumbersome amount of time and energy spent walking...down the long hallway to the elevator, through the large lobby, across the huge portico and driveways to the car, back to the building, to the pool, laundry room, etc. etc. This is a great place for someone who wears a step counter.
Another great thing is the breakfast. There is a large selection from scrambled eggs, biscuits and bacon to cereals, muffins, orange juice and more. Everything was fresh. Hot foods are served cafeteria style and the rest is self-service. We didn't have to worry about getting there before all the food is gone like at other free breakfast hotels. The staff that serve breakfast are hard-working, polite, and talented. (The cleaning staff was also very friendly and helpful.)
This place makes a great little getaway off the beaten path. I've lived near the river all my life, but didn't expect that I would enjoy the view from our room so much. There is also a nice patio off the lobby where you can sit and watch the river if you prefer the outdoor air.

I did find what appeared to be dried shredded mozzarella in my bed sheets. Other then that the hotel was fine. Their is a nice river walk right out side the hotel.

While working on a towboat on the Mississippi River I became so ill I needed urgent medical care. Arrangements were made for me to get off the boat at Vidalia, LA , 500 miles from home and on my own. I called the Comfort Suites located close to the boat landing to reserve a room. I explained my situation to the the hotel's general manager who answered the phone. Jody (GM )was waiting for me at the landing when I got off the boat, she drove me to the hotel, got me to my room and assisted me in seeking medical care. Talk about going above and beyond for the guest!!!
The property itself was very nice, rooms were just as nice and extremely clean. Friendly helpful staff as well. Complimentary breakfast was excellent!
I highly recommend this hotel!
