After reading the "Just Don't Do It" review my wife and I decided to drive from New Orleans to Thibodaux and check out the Carmel Inn and Suites in preparing for a big car show event we will be attending in Thibodaux in November. The Carvel Inn was very nicely appointed and clean. We got the pick of multiple rooms to inspect and there was no dust, dirt and mold as described in the fake review. Do not believe one word of that review it is obviously the work of a competitor. We are booking 10 couples for the event based on our inspection of the hotel.

Don't have time for a long review right now...just don't do it! Don't know how the hotel got such high reviews...pay attention to the low ones. The one staff member we encountered was very nice but the rooms were awful and we cancelled our reservation. This was indeed an old Ramada....and I believe the dust, dirt and mold I saw was from the Ramada days!! Do yourself a favor and head to the Days Inn. That's where we wound up and it was clean.

We stayed at the Carmel Inn, because are son was at the Manning Passing Academy, the room was clean, the staff was really nice. We had no problems are room was really quiet, we'll definately stay there again next year. Can not wait to go back. You will never find a more comfortable bed.

My husband and I stayed here because of location. Our boys were at the Manning Passing Academy, so it was close. We called ahead of time to make reservations around town and everything was booked because of BP workers, so this was the only place we could find. They said all they had left was a King Room..which was perfect for us...but when we got to our room ..only 1 queen (was more like a double) very small !! I had also called back to make sure I would have microwave/refrig and the lady said that I would definetly have that because it came with the room I had reserved...BUT ..when we checked in...NOTHING....so I called to the front desk and told them...later that evening when we got back to the room...we had brand-new mico/frig..!!!...The cleaning staff didnt clean our room the last day we were there...they took our pillowcases off our pillows and took our dirty towels and never came back to give us clean ones...when we came in later in the evening, I called the front desk and only an answering machine picked up...so I left a message to see about getting some towels/etc....nothing !!!!
