If you have a choice, go ANYWHERE else! This is definately NOT the Wyndham! We had booked a king non-smoking room. We were placed in a smoking room on the 3rd floor. The minute you exit the elevator, you will smell the musty smoky odor that permeates this entire floor. The strong smoke smell hit us immediately upon opening our room door. We called to the front desk to tell them there must be a mistake as this room not only smelled like smoke but had 3 ashtrays in it as well as burn marks in the carpet. The girl at the front desk assured us it was non-smoking (even though there was no non-smoking emblem on the door) and that the ashtrays were just left in there, that some of the rooms on the floor were smoking rooms, but not ours. She was less than willing to change our room. Being that we had arrived very late (midnight) , we decided maybe it wouldn't be so bad. WRONG! The room itself was filthy. There is approx. 2 feet between the bed and the wall with a floor lamp in the corner. The base of the lamp was encrusted with dust and spattered with some type of spilled drink, not to mention that the whole corner and floor on that side of the bed obviously had not been cleaned in years (full of dust and gradu). Phone/clock radio in room was obviously dirty with dust and crumbs in its holder/tray. The comforter smelled like men's cologne and the bottom sheet had a hole in it. Bathtub is ancient and stained, hair on floor of bath. Bathroom door dirty with handprints and had streaks of dark "stuff" on it. No coffee for in room coffee pot. Lobby not particularly clean. The whole place made me feel dirty and as if I didn't want to touch anything! Only redeeming thing was that the bed was comfortable. I will never stay in a Wingate Inn again!

Hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast bar was awesome and always fresh. We were there attending a wedding ,visiting family and my husband also conducted buisness. We were very busy and the staff went out of there way to take care of all of our needs. Heather, the hotel manager was awesome !!!! in all of our years of traveling I don't think that I have ever been treated so kind and made to feel so comfortable. Our oldest son is Autistic and Heather went above and beyond the call of duty to put us in the perfect room. We will be going back to Louisiana in May and the Wingate will be our first and only choice for accomodations for our family.

Hotel is OK. Expected more from the Wyndham hotel chain. Room was OK, needed a little better cleaning. Was Easter weekend so maybe they were short handed. That said, clean rooms are important no matter where you stay. Pool was dirty and had cigarette butts floating in it so my son couldn't swim. Breakfast was good. For the price I will probably avoid Wingate in the future.

After checking into our room we went out to dinner. When we returned our key would not open the door to the room. Went to front desk and got a new key, which we attempted to use to open our door. An unknown male opened our door and refused to leave the room. The front desk went to our room and determined that they had given this person a key to our room. He was told by the staff to leave our room, and did eventually leave, but he was in our room with all of our valuables, including a laptop computer. Hotel changed the sheets on our bed and told us sorry. This was terrifying and we will never stay here again. There is no security at the hotel. No identification was checked before handing over coded keys by the staff.
