I needed to stay in Lake Charles, LA, but the Comfort Inn was booked up as were other hotels in Lake Charles proper. I decided to make the trek to Sulpher and stay there. The hotel appears to have had a recent facelift, but didn't smell new on the inside, not that it smelled bad, just the stale hotel smell. The room and bathroom were clean. My air-conditioner worked well (in a humid Louisiana August). I had plenty of room to park my F250 and 20' trailer. There are a number of buffet style eating places around, and that is why I am keeping it in mind as my alterntate destination if there is no room availability in Lake Charles. It does also appear that many work crews use this hotel as a lodging base for a lot of the contract work around. The limited breakfast was not available for me. It left at 0600; breakfast began at 0630. Night desk service was better than morning desk service.
