I work for a local refinery and stay in the area quite a bit. I've stayed at every hotel at exit 23 and this is the best I've stayed at. Not only do they have better rates but the staff is perfect. They're friendly and go above and beyond. Once a housekeeper did my laundry for me when I pulled a 16 hour shift!

I have not tried Best Western in several years. Yes, the hotel in general has gotten better but the beds are still rock hard. Best Western advertises on the website as "pillowtop mattresses" but they are not. If you want a night of tossing and turning, then this the hotel chain to book with.

My family and I were on a roadtrip from FL to TX and over the 4 day drive we stayed at 4 Best Western hotels. This was hands down the nicest Best Western we stayed in. They had a very nice hot breakfast which the kids loved, we needed to wash the kids clothes they had a FREE laundry room and they provide the detergent free of charge. The staff was awesome! the rooms were spotless. The staff told us of a little seafood place called Steamboat Bills, they had great food at a reasonable price. The hotel also sits right nextdoor to a Cracker Barrel so we ate dinner there a couple of nights as well. Overall a very pleasant stay we will come back.

We went to Lake Charles 4th of July weekend for a night to gamble. The hotel looked like it was brand new and was exceptionally clean and quiet. The staff was helpful and the rooms were large and comfortable. The only bad thing is there is no wi-fi, but there is high speed with a cable. All in all, it was fairly inexpensive and a very nice stay. Best Westerns continue to surprise me in how nice they have become!
