I was passing through Lafayette, LA and this was the hotel that I stayed at. It was very close to I-10 which was the interstate that I needed to get on the next morning. The room was clean and well kept as I entered it except for the funny smell that came from the air conditioner. The vibe as I entered the parking lot was a little mixed. This one hispanic guy who was also staying at the hotel just kept giving me the stare down as I was taking the bags out of my car. It made me feel uncomfy, but if it came down to it I would've threw down and tried to hold my own.
I was traveling solo so I made sure of my surroundings. At the time I arrived there was a large family of African American folks swimming in the pool and as I made my way to the room the kids would be running up and down from their room out to the pool. Even at night as they were coming back to their rooms I could hear them run down the hall, but since I was only staying one night it didnt bother me. Plus I am a deep sleeper so all outside noises are blocked out.
All in all, it provided the basic necessities that I needed: A place to sleep, shower, and rest. Getting back into the car and going into Lafayette to find some places to eat wasn't that hard either. It was my second time in Lafayette so I knew how to get around to here and there.
The hotel fit my budget for the 1 night that I stayed there. It all worked out for me.
