Very nice staff and great attention to all of us, we had 18 of us and we had the most comfortable week just being welcomed by the staff and GM, Hunter. Will be back next year or so.

I was passing through Lafayette, LA and this was the hotel that I stayed at. It was very close to I-10 which was the interstate that I needed to get on the next morning. The room was clean and well kept as I entered it except for the funny smell that came from the air conditioner. The vibe as I entered the parking lot was a little mixed. This one hispanic guy who was also staying at the hotel just kept giving me the stare down as I was taking the bags out of my car. It made me feel uncomfy, but if it came down to it I would've threw down and tried to hold my own.
I was traveling solo so I made sure of my surroundings. At the time I arrived there was a large family of African American folks swimming in the pool and as I made my way to the room the kids would be running up and down from their room out to the pool. Even at night as they were coming back to their rooms I could hear them run down the hall, but since I was only staying one night it didnt bother me. Plus I am a deep sleeper so all outside noises are blocked out.
All in all, it provided the basic necessities that I needed: A place to sleep, shower, and rest. Getting back into the car and going into Lafayette to find some places to eat wasn't that hard either. It was my second time in Lafayette so I knew how to get around to here and there.
The hotel fit my budget for the 1 night that I stayed there. It all worked out for me.
This hotel is great for the money. This is part of Choice Hotels wich honors AARP with a 10% discount. Choice often has other incentive programs. I generally prefer their higher end Comfort Suites hotels when with my family, but when alone I look for good deals on lower price hotels.
This room only ended up costing around $42. I was a little nervous since it seemed awful cheap and I reserved the room online. Everything was clean and quiet and the building seems fairly new and not outdated.
I will definitely stay here again whenever I have a need to spend a night in the area, which is two or three times a year.
I loved the location, very safe and convenient. The staff was very nice and the room had the best A/C I have ever had in a room. WILL BE BACK SOON!
Older property with some remodeling. Better than expected breakfast. Had a bowl of cereal and bagel, then made an egg and sausage sandwich to go. Front desk person seemed indifferent, but housekeeping staff were friendly. Next time I will probably stay at the Pear Tree at the next exit east, but if they are full, I'd stay here again.
