Wow let me count the ways not to stay there. The good....the people were somewhat friendly, not as friendly as other hotels but not bad.The other good...well they have free breakfast. They did promptly bring extra pillows for us when asked. That's about all I can say is good. The bad....the room was very stuffy and i mean bad. It took me 3 days to get my sinus infection cleared. If i was the only one that was complaining I would not be typing this but there was a group of girls that all woke up stuffy that I was able to see at breakfast. They said their throat hurt too! Just like Mine! Anyway, the bathrooms are very small. They give you no shampoo, you have to ask for it. Their remote control for the TV were so worn you could not see the numbers or anything. The lighting was horrible. They had no lamps in the room. They claimed you get HBO and even give you a pamphlet of what is showing but they have HBO2 so the pamphlet was worthless. So sad really. We had to ask several times for them to refill their continental breakfast because they were not on top of it. The couch in the room was terrible. I would stay somewhere else for sure, if i ever go back there.

The night staff at Microtel Ponchatoula, La. was very disrespectful and harrased us the whole time we were stayed at this Motel.

I wasn't sure what to expect but overall was pleased with the accomodations. Comfortable up-to-date beds and spreads, nice big mirrors, large refrig. and microwave. Pleasant employees - although the maid service forgot things like coffee and sugar and cream but were very nice when reminded. I stayed 2 weeks here for business purposes and would stay here again. One very nice aspect is that the walls are thick and you cannot hear anything that goes on in adjacent rooms - tv, etc... The door did let light in around it though.

This hotel was definitely better than we expected since we had never heard of or stayed at a Microtel Inn before. We got a great online price for a suite. We were excited about the suite because it divided the spacious room in half with a counter. This way our toddler could sleep in one half of the room while we read/talked/watched television in the other half. We also liked the free wireless internet connection. The hotel also had a free, small breakfast. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Our only complaint was that the bed was not very comfortable.

One bonus of the hotel was that a strawberry seller set up shop in an empty lot next to the hotel, so we got to buy delicious strawberries for a good price.
