Upon arrival, we were given an extensive tour of the grounds by the very friendly owner/ Innkeeper. I was impressed by the fact that he seemed to have thought of everything. The inn has a kitchen stocked with many items that the common guest could possibly want, including drinks, snacks, water jars filled with reverse osmosis filtered water, and wine accessories, although cooking by guests is not allowed. The great room features a beautiful fireplace. The pool out back was also a nice feature, and it was decorated with palms, etc., which gave it sort of a beach feel. Very relaxing. Finally, the suite featured a very comfortable bed, and, most notably, a huge marble whirlpool tub/shower. The whirlpool tub was very relaxing.

All in all, our experience was very pleasing here. All amenities are available at will, 24/7, and guests can come and go as they please without disturbing either other guests or the Innkeeper. Although the cosmetic look of the inside was a bit dated, it also provided a nostalgic feeling. We enjoyed our stay, and will choose this location again the next time we plan a short getaway.

Staying at Country Ridge in Opeloussas LA was a real treat. A beautiful home surrounded by lush grounds, a great pool and a neighborhing horse farm. Our romm was perfect and the bed and bedding were also very fine.

I can't say enough about the kindness and hospitality of our hosts, Sheila and Soony. They were happy to oblige anything we asked of them.

As disorganised people from England it was nice to talk to Sonny who showed us around the facilities of their bed and breakfast. He then spent half an hour talking about the area, its history and the do's and don’ts of jogging safely (cars being the biggest threat). We found the house to be cosy and full of history. As a family home there are snippets of Sonny and his family’s life – a really happy and refreshing experience. The amenities within the house are great and there is a Wal-Mart a mile or so away. You are left to it (which is nice) and Sonny is available if required (lives across the yard). Although when we stayed the weather was vey rainy I highly recommend this as a place to stay when in the area because it’s appropriate, safe and friendly. Thanks Sonny we appreciate the effort you and your wife clearly put into the business.

I was blessed to find Country Ridge B & B in Opelousas, LA. Sonny and Sheila have a comfortable home and they are very welcoming! The rooms are immaculate, the beds are luxurious and the showers are awesome. If you are traveling for business or leisure, a stay at Country Ridge should not be missed.
