The prices have gone up to 60-65 a night, tax included. That is still one othe best prices in town..
They have been remodling, I could see it was not quite complete by the finishing touches on the the walls. This is for the budget traveler, not for someone used to first class.
The room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioner worked. The mini fridge worked too, From experince and word of mouth, not all hotels have a fridge/freezer, nice touch.
I stayed a night at the Cajun inn too, clean room-weird shower. But there was a lot of noise, people, and trafiic there. And a big car accident arugment.
At the New Iberia in it was nice and quiet. It was off season, so the pool was closed, but the lawn "love swings" were very relaxing. It ws also pleasent to be greeted on leaving in the morning by the cooing birds in the trees.
