“Very Nice Accomodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

The Queen Anne is a beautifully appointed Victorian B&B with pretty grounds. Very lovely common rooms and exceptionally elegant guest rooms (and not cluttered or fussy). Very clean and polished. It is 'unhosted' until breakfast time, meaning that you pick up your room keys on the front porch table and let yourself in - not a problem for us. We felt that we would be promptly attended to if we called about anything, so we felt secure and not at all isolated.
We found only two small drawbacks - the thermostat upstairs controls four rooms, and it was a bit chilly, and the shower pressure and stream were low (not uncommon in older houses). The two-person jacuzzi was very nice and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was tasty and charmingly served by the innkeeper. She was friendly and social without being intrusive - a perfect combination. Great conversation and interesting guests at the table. Natchitoches is a delightful town and the Queen Anne representative of the friendliness of the region. We will return and recommend.

“Beautiful home, wonderful breakfast, off-street parking, lovely at Christmas”

We have stayed several times at the Queen Anne B & B. On our most recent trip, we stayed in the large, beautifully appointed Library Room downstairs just through the double doors off the main parlor. The Library room features a large, extremely comfortable king-sized bed and a private sitting area with a television in the large armoire. Originally part of the home's double parlor, this room was converted into a Library with the addition of solid, walnut built-in bookcases. It really is a large room. There is a view of the gazebo in the side garden from the large bay window in the room.

The only slightly negative things were the bathroom is not huge - it is an antebellum home, afterall - but with the whirlpool tub, we found it quite accommodating. Also, we could sometimes hear breakfast preparations in the kitchen, but we didn't want to miss that scrumptous meal, so we were up pretty early anyway.

The holiday season is spectacular in Natchitoches and we highly recommend taking the buggy ride and walking along the bayou while enjoying funnel cakes and meat pies as you view their renowned Christmas lights. It is all within a very short drive from the Queen Anne to downtown.

We will definitely return to this lovely home again. [-------]
