“We honeymooned here and LOVED it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon December 2 of 2009, and it was GREAT! The house is just far enough away from the city, but not a long drive at all. We stayed in the Victorian suite also for the tub. It is definately amazing. bubbles, candles, and soaps were provided. The room was beautiful, but not so antiqued that it was uncomfortable. The host were very friendly and accomadating with out making us feel silly or uncomfortable either. We LOVED the little balcony off our room and the porches with rocking chairs. We were their during the "festival of lights" and there was plenty to see. The main street of natchitoches is the original brick pavements, and string of lights litterally form and almost solid roof overhead. The river runs with a park and tons of christmas lights on one side, with glass storefronts filled with little Christmas villages on the other. We had a very reasonably priced and romantic dinner at a lil restaraunt and when arriving back at the bed and breakfast found sparkling cider and cookies waiting in our room. The next morning we were served an amazing breakfast in bed. it included a breakfast quiche that was sooo yummy, tons of fruit and biscuits, with juice and fresh coffee. You can also choose to eat in the kitchen with other guests. The kitchen is just adorably decorated in Coca Cola theme.
I cannot say anything bad about this bed and breakfast. I researched for weeks before picking one, and could not have choosen better!! We will definately be going back whenever possible!!!

“Pleasant stay on outskirts of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2010

My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I stayed at Chateau D Terre for his birthday in February. It was rainy and cold when we arrived. Terrie told us on the phone she would be out when we arrived and she would leave us a key to get in to the house and our room. The key was there and we let ourselves in, and Terrie actually arrived shortly after we got inside the house. Terrie was very pleasant and showed us to our room while telling us a little about herself and family.

We stayed in the Victorian Suite because of its bathtub. We searched online before booking and decided to stay here because of its huge two person bathtub in this particular suite. The tub did not disappoint. There were candles lined up along the tub and something to light them with. The bed wasn't super spectacular but we didn't lose any sleep on it!

There is also a balcony off of the room. Since it was so cold outside we didn't really get to enjoy it much.

The breakfast we were served was sooo good. The owners made us warm food with fruit on the side. The fruit, I think, was the best of it all! We also received a plate of cookies in our room as an in-room dessert.

This B&B is located close to the interstate and a few miles away from the downtown Natchitoches area. The rest of the weekend the weather was nice; cold but sunny. We walked along the river downtown and shopped on Front Street in the Historic District. We also enjoyed some Natchitoches meat pies, which is something you must try if you visit Natchitoches. Natchitoches is filled with lots of cultural places to explore and the movie Steel Magnolias was also filmed here. You can see some of the same things Shelby and M'Lynn did!

I just want to add that I am VERY picky about lodging and cleanliness and I would stay here again because I felt it was clean!
