My family and I stayed at Tante Huppe Inn on 6/20/10, which has recently been taken over by new ownership. The current owners are relatives of the previous owner, who had attempted to run the inn during declining health. When we made the reservation, the innkeepers advised us that they were not completely set up for serving breakfast yet having only just completed renovations on the 2 guest rooms in the carriage house. Our room had a full and completely equipped kitchen for our use, which worked out fine for us. The room was absolutely spotless, very comfortable with all new linens and furniture and had been tastefully decorated. Soon after we arrived, the owners stopped by to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Right now, the gardens are in the process of being brought back to what they probably were at one time, but we still enjoyed strolling around the grounds and were amused by the swashbuckling statue of Captain Morgan in the garden. Part of our group had a swim in the pool, while others enjoyed a glass of wine as we watched the pool activities. Morning was very pleasant. and we enjoyed our coffee on the terrace just outside our room. It was a quiet hideaway which was perfect for our stay. I would certainly stay again, and would be interested to see the owners’ progress in renovating the main house.
