“A Phone Call Away”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2011

I was out on business in the Morgan City Area, & I called around to see the best prices available at the time of my stay. I called the Days Inn in Morgan City, and I was absolutely sold during the phone conversation I had with the clerk. She gave me accurate directions to get to the hotel. When I made it there she was actually locking the doors because of their regulations, but allowed me to come in, because it was too cold to stand outside. She was really friendly, and courtesy. Actually, it really didn't matter how the rooms were, I just was happy to have someone who took the time out to try to accomodate me at the time of my need. The rooms were cleaned well, just a little old fashioned but the complimentary cookies & water was a plus. Anytime I'm in the area, I will stay there, cause thier desk clerks are really helpful. I didn't see a name tag on her, but I heard her answer the phone Ronnesha! Sometimes the 1st impressions are the ones that last the longest, & mine was just a phone call away. Days Inn is really doing a great job.

“not recommended,poor cleanliness,”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2010

I stayed at this hotel for 27 days, due to company business in the area.I requested to have room cleaned 4 times.
The first was after 8 days, and when I asked the front desk at 2:00 pm,they said it was too late in the day,so I scheduled for the next day.
The next day,it did not happen.
On the 10th day,I stopped the maid, and asked to have my room cleaned. She did this, but did not change the linens, only made the bed,and took the towels, and did not vacuum. She returned 2 hours later with the towels.
After 4 more days,I requested to have the room cleaned .This time, she did vacuum, but still did not change the linens.
I called the front desk, and asked how often they changed sheets on extended stay guests, and was told mon. wed and fri.I asked why they weren't changing mine, and was told she would check on it.I never heard back from her.
After about 17 days,I talked to the maid, and she finally changed the sheets on my bed,but could not find extra sheets,so she went to three other maids to find the right sheets.I had regular beds in my room,so I don't understand the problem. After this, they had no pillowcases cleaned to put on my bed.
This hotel was never full or overbooked this entire time,so that couldn't be the reason for such poor service.
The last day i was there,I checked out at 4:00 pm,and was told they would have to charge me for an extra day, because the maids had already left However the maids carts were still there outside of rooms they were still cleaning for other people that were working nights.
The internet was poor, very bad signal and would have to reboot about every 10 to 15 minutes.
After all this, and the fact I worked nights this whole time, due to a lot of noise, loud stereos and loud cars in and out of this location,I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We certainly regret and apologize for any guest's stay that is less than satisfactory, and we appreciate the feedback so that we may better know where we need to improve our services.
We feel that our Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments are caring, conscientious, detail oriented, and very well staffed. We regularly have training sessions for meeting brand standards and routinely pass our inspections performed by our franchisor, Wyndham Hotel Group of Wyndham Worldwide Hotels. Housekeeping cleans rooms and linens daily for short stay guests and 3 times weekly for our extended stay guests, and our Maintenance Dept takes care of emergency tickets immediately and routine tickets within 24 hrs or less. Guest surveys are done routinely and continuously as part of our Quality Assurance program, and Days Inn Morgan City actually scores very high and compares favorably with it's peers on guest survey scores.
Regarding internet, there was a brief period of time when our complimentary wireless internet connectivity service was inadequate during a period of high occupancy. That problem, however, was remedied expeditiously with the placement of a new router and 8 additional access points. Since then and up to now, guests rarely, if ever, report encountering any difficulties. Also, to ensure good internet connectivity at all times, we are contracted with an excellent local wireless internet service provider company that provides on call technicians 24 hrs/day who come on site to troubleshoot and correct any wireless internet issues for our guests.
Thank you,

“I've Seen Better”

This Days Inn was somewhat overpriced for what you get. We paid $82.88 (including tax). Our room was quite small and really didn't have any 'extras' to speak of. They don't do breakfast but there is a restaurant onsite where you can have a small free breakfast. Actually, we had some Club/BLT sandwiches here for lunch and they were quite good.
When I checked in the girl on the front desk was more interested in talking on her cell phone than dealing with me. I felt more like I was intruding on her phone call than that I was a paying customer being checked in. This is personal pet peeve of mine and I tell the person that I will wait until they finish their conversation...this ticks them off for some reason. The girl on the front desk had some friends (and their kids) just 'hanging out' in the office with her. It's always a joy to check in while being harassed by strange children and having to hear their mum yell at them in public. I do mean yell and not try and control them at all. - Another pet peeve - .
I left the room at about 8am to go to the shop and the maid immediately tried to come in. She copped an earfull from the misses.
Overall I would have to say if you have another option as opposed to staying I would take that option.

  • Liked — The restaurant food was good...didn't really like too much about the motel itself
  • Disliked — The staff were very unproffesional

“‘Take it or leave it’”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2007

Opposite this Days Inn is the Twin City Motel (not listed) where I asked for a room. Front desk there was friendly, but the room was awful, very old furniture, somewhat dirty and extremely smelling of cigarette smoke (there a no non-smoking rooms available), so I drove to the Days Inn on the other side of the road.

The girl behind the desk in the Days Inn found it very strange that I wanted to see the room before check-in. She gave me the key card and I walked to the room, this was situated around the corner of the reception. When I arrived I noticed several workers busy with painting the building. The whole unit was sealed off; I couldn’t enter the room without assistance from one of the workers. He removed the sealing from the key card lock and carefully opened the door, because this was still wet from the fresh paint.

Inside a usual motel room, but the smell inside caused by the painting was very bad. It would not only be very difficult to move luggage inside because it would damage the fresh paint (and the suitcases of course), it would even be very unhealthy to be in this damp. The window was also sealed of, so no way we would sleep here.

I walked back to the reception and said to the employee that the room wasn’t fit to use because of all the paintwork. She moved her shoulders, grabbed my key card and turned her back to me, showing ‘take it or leave it’. It stood there with my mouth open, at first I couldn’t say anything because I just couldn’t believe this attitude and finally said friendly goodbye and left.

  • Liked — I cannot tell
  • Disliked — Unfit room and staff attitude
