Average La Quinta beside extremely busy roads, difficult to find access too.The City Diner in parking lot is outstanding. Good plain Louisiana food at good prices.

This is an older La Quinta (old-style motel with all exterior entrances), but it appears to have been remodeled since some of the other reviews I read. Paint, decor and carpet were fresh, wireless internet and flat screen TV, room was clean, price was good (about $63, I think). Good value for the money, if you're not looking for anything fancy.

A good standard motel with net access, small pool.
Clean, nice rooms, a bit far from the french quarter but right off I-10. Paid about $80 a night. The Extended Stay is nearby and has a kitchen (I've stayed there too).
Across the interstate (north) is Morning Call (great coffee & beignets), Lakeside mall, drive through daiquiri places, eataries. South is Sam's Club (gas, beads, alcohol).
Had problem with TV at check in but maintenance showed up quickly and replaced the unit.

This is an older, tired La Quinta which they superficially tried to brighten up with renovations. The front desk clerk was indifferent, did not make eye contact and did not smile. The property was full of work crews, mostly cable repair men who were repairing damage from hurricane Ivan. It was a sight to see... men walking around on cell phones in their boxers. Lovely.
The walls were thin and you could hear everything. Sometimes, when you get a cheap room, you pay for it anyway by not sleeping.
