Helpful staff - when we were there for Jazz Fest the hotel was full - they had 2 elevators but only 1 worked, it seemed that the Monday after Jazz Fest the engineers must have come in so when it was only half full they both worked. While we were there it meant we frequently had long waits. There was free WiFi - good, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was basic and seemed very much a throw back to earlier days.... seemed a bit like a waste land around it... Metarie is a neighbourhood - a good beer bar (Lagers) in walking distance - a 15-20 minute walk away we found a greaat breakfast place - Peppercorns... No complaints, but as I say seen better days

Run down and dirty. The sink faucet was so loose I was scared to use it. The sink stopper was broken. The hair dryer fell off the wall. Carpets not vacuumed. The room just felt dirty. Slept with the lights on in fear of what may crawl in my bed. And the best....no hot water.

Yes, I was shot at on the fifth floor at 3:00am. I heard what I thought might be fireworks in the middle of the night. I went to the window and my window was shot out!! The bullet was embedded in the wall behind me.

I've stayed here twice now & enjoyed both stays. The staff is very courteous & helpful. The hotel is clean & comfortable as well. I tried the breakfast buffet on my first visit; it was good albeit pricey. The hotel is conveniently located off the interstate & close to shopping, dining, etc.
