I am a business man that travels on average of twice a month every month, and visit everywhere in the continental US. To date this was the best hotel stay I have experienced. The staff is key to this gem, from the kitchen staff to the mangers I was made to feel like family from the moment I arrived to the day I left, (almost two weeks later)!!!
The close proximity of major road construction made it a little difficult to get to from the freeway, BUT was well worth the effort!!!
It is my understanding this hotel was the center of attention in the day she was built, unfortunately due to damage suffered from Hurricane Katrina the main tower rooms are unavailable until reconstruction and remolding are complete. The rooms that are available are newly remolded and spot on!!
The fitness room was surprisingly robust and convenient. The café at first glance looked simple and understated. But after taking a chance as opposed to getting out on the town turned out to be the secret to this stays success! Ms. Faye the hostess / bar tended was the pinnacle of Southern hospitality! And when Chef Ronell is on duty you are guaranteed to have a flavorful taste of New Orleans, I suggest anything he makes with catfish will not disappoint you!
I look forward to my return next year when I WILL chose the Landmark Best Western hotel again for my travelling needs. Also I truly look forward to the completion of their reconstruction!!
