Pretty decent rooms (all are updated) for a full service Marriott, though definitely better Marriotts out there, but for a good location in Metairie and still close to the airport and downtown, you can't beat this one for the price (when $150 or less) and parking is cheap at this hotel - a rarity for NOLA hotels). Close to lots of shopping and dining establishments. A good executive level lounge but fitness facilities are lacking.

I wouldn't eat their restaurant, but they continue to put more money into it to make it better and so it does at least continue to improve - it's mediocre the last I ate there, but again, you're in New Orleans - there's plenty of places within 0.5 - 1.0 miles from the hotel.

A dependable Marriott in a good location.

“Good Hotel in Metairie LA”

This is a typical Marriott Inn until it comes to service. This one exceeded my expectations. The only negative is their parking lot it was very hard to find an empty spot.

“Excellent Hotel in New Orleans Suburb”

We stayed here one night on Sugar Bowl weekend. It's in Metarie, halfway between Bourbon St and MSY airport and within one mile of a major mall. A nearby expressway goes right into New Orleans. Was rated by services at 3.5 stars but is easily a 4 star. Has hi def TV's, outstanding beds, classy and quiet building, robe in closet, and outstanding service. Be advised that parking is $10 a night in adjacent garage and wi-fi is another $13 a day. Beautiful views of Lake Ponchartrain but there's not much within walking distance. Breakfast off the menu was so-so, probably because it was a holiday weekend. Nevertheless, this is a deluxe property with outstanding service and deserves a higher rating. We wished we'd bid for three nights instead of only one.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view of Lake Pnchartrain

“Fantastic hotel & wonderful staff!!”

We loved this Marriott & we'll definitely stay here again! All of the staff, from the valet to the front desk to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to the 17th floor, which is concierge level. Our king room was very spacious and modern and overlooked the Lake. The bathroom was nice but a bit small. We enjoyed the concierge breakfast, which included scrambled eggs & bacon, fruit, juice, cereal. Love this hotel!

We called the hotel about taxi service when we landed in New Orleans. We went with the recommended taxi company because of the price the hotel thought it would charge. Big mistake. The Taxi ride was double the expected price. I told the hotel about it during check in and they felt bad and gave us complimentary breakfast buffet for the next morning ($60 value) which more than made up for the taxi snafu.
Thank you Marriott Metairie staff for that.
The room we had was big and had a nice view. It was clean and Marriott quality.
We had a little issue with my son's luggage that required a handy man to come up to our room with a pair of pliers... he fixed the problem in 10 seconds and refused a tip. Wow.
I loved the hotel - nice and quiet - the breakfast buffet and restaurant was very nice and had everything.
Should mention if you are looking to be in the heart of the action - this is not the place - it is a $25 taxi ride to the French Quarter.
