I've stayed here more than a few times for business but had to move elsewhere on three occasions because the Internet problems prevented me from doing the work my travel requires me to do in my room. It is truly their biggest weakness and promises to repair have not been successful. This isn't a bandwidth slowdown issue; rather, this is a no internet issue even though you can connect to a routers on different floors. There is a closet-size business center with a single PC and printer on a separate network connection that usually seems to work but is not suitable for my work.

I've never had an significant room issues, like problems with cleanliness or bugs. While water pressure is adequate, the showerheads have large calcium deposits (usually caused by hot water heaters) and need cleaning.

For value and location, it works for me. The long-time staff have been excellent. But I'm here for work and if I know I need to do my work that night on the house internet, I don't want to but I go elsewhere.

Checked in late on Saturday night, personnel was very professional. They asked me where I wanted to stay. They placed me in a nice room, rather small. The price was right. $49.95. Room was small for more than two people. Micro refrigerator, microwave, and coffemaker was in the room. The counter top was where the Micro wave was located. I had to use the counter top for my computer. It worked with adjustments. Bed was very comfortable.

The only thing that concerned me was, I hardly ever look at my bills untill I am at home. I must say PLEASE look at your billing when checking in. They charge for a SAFE in your room($1.75), I called, and they took it off with no problems at all. They said it would have been easier if I would have noticed it upon checkin. They were very concerned that it was taken care of with crediting my credit card. Manager was very nice.

All in all, perfect stay. Small breakfast in morning, but Waffle House next door, and right off the interstate. Great for traveling. Enjoyed it. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because of MY lack of not checking billing upon checkin.

Made reservation and stated several times arrival would be Sunday at 2am. Manger made reservation for arrival on Sunday late arrival Monday 2am. Got to hotel and night clerk said they had no double rooms and we could have a King. Here another "bright minded" person. There were 3 of us - my husband, my 17 year old son and myself. Now in Texas we don't take to sleeping with your grown children - but I guess that is OK in Lousiana. The entire staff are not the brightest lightbulb as they say. No place to stay and had to go to another hotel. No appolgy !!!! Just a Oh well... No isn't that great customer service.

We've stayed at this particular Microtel for the past 5 years. The front desk staff has always been pleasant. The prices are very good and we were given a special rate when it was noticed we were staying for longer than 7 days. The beds are comfortable. The lobby provides places for people to talk or play games/cards. However, we have noticed that it's starting to get run down. Furnishings, decor could be updated.Our air conditioner rattled non-stop, even though it had just been serviced. The front desk had been notified about this issue, but it never seemed to be resolved. The breakfast buffet used to be a bit more exciting. The pool appeared to be over chlorinated (I'm no expert, but eyes weeping for a long period of time after getting out of the pool means something). It is close to a Wendy's and the Mall.
