We're from Baton Rouge; we were in Lake Charles overnight for a wedding. Most of the other wedding guests stayed at one of the casino hotels. That's not our cup of tea, so we stayed at this highly recommended B & B, which is in a quiet residential neighborhood near downtown. It turned out to be just a few blocks from both the church where the wedding took place and the restaurant where the reception was held. The B & B more than lived up to the recommendations.
We stayed in the top floor room, which was comfortable, spacious, and quiet, with everything in working order. The grounds are attractive and peaceful. Breakfast was possibly the best we've ever had at a B & B - a delicious made-to-order omelette, homemade biscuits, fruit, grits, and a breakfast meat (we don't eat pork so we can't comment on that part of it). Jessica, the manager, was attentive and pleasant. Parking was easy. There's a nice-looking pool and jacuzzi which we didn't use.
All in all, a great place to stay.
