Despite booking almost 3 months in advance, the hotel was unable to provide the two bed Queen Suite that had been confirmed by them. We had to accept a one bed King Suite for the first night of our stay. The Holiday Inn Express 'Hospitality Promise' states that if any part of your stay is not satisfactory then you won't pay for that part of your stay. There is just one catch to this promise - the hotel say that you have to have made your booking direct to the hotel for the Promise to be valid. The hotel is a franchise and IHG Holiday Inn customer services just keep passing the buck. We are now in contact with the Lafayette Better Business Bureau which is the equivalent of our Trading Standards. Apart from the above, the hotel is very poorly built. In both rooms that we were in (on different floors) we heard every footstep in the corridor outside. The highway outside is very noisy and busy. There are much better hotels in Lafayette for an equivalent price.
