“Horrible”

We paid 125 + Tax =$131.00 on October 22, 2011, for one night. I should have known the room was going to be terrible after using the restroom in the lobby. We arrived after 6 p.m. and I was already warned after 6 the room would be charged to my credit card. We entered the room (Room 118) the first thing I noticed was the horrible carpet. It was stained as though it had not ever been shampooed. The casino has the same type of carpet and it was not stained or nasty looking as the hotel room in Kosaiti Pine Lodge Room 118.

The rest room toliet lid (underside) was badly stained and the support underside was stained and cracked. the floor of the restroom looks as though the gout had NEVER been cleaned. The sheets appeared clean and my hubby said the sheets are cleaned we will ony be here a few hours to sleep and get back on the road.

I am just very upset and have photos of the condition of this room when is it on Coushatta's Cascino's Website for lodging. One one feel this property would have been in much better condition. I will post the photos everywhere I am able to do so--You Tube, Google, etc. Then they had the nerve to hold 50.00 until we checked out for damages, what happened to the 50.00 they should have kept to shampoo the carpet and change the nasty toliet seat.

Room Tip: Get there before 6 to inspect the condition of the room

“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

My wife and I were a bit apprehensive about staying here given some of the reviews by others but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in one of the mini-suites (pretty much the same as their standard rooms but a little larger) and it appears to have been recently renovated...walls painted, new carpeting, newer furnishings, everything worked fine, no observed damage, very clean. The tub/shower was older but it was clean and had no damage. We also stayed in a smoking room and were very pleased to find there was very little odor of any kind. The bed was comfortable and provided good support but they really need to replace the dinky, too soft, pillows.

There are 2 buildings, both of which appear to have been perhaps older hotels that Coushatta Casino Resorts purchased and then branded as their own. But they both appeared to be well maintained externally and internally (I can't speak for the condition of all the rooms). Staff was friendly and courteous.

We did not observe any of the issues some others have warned about. Either they've cleaned up their act some or we simply were one of the lucky ones. (We certainly needed some luck since we had none at the casino.)

This hotel is NOT next to the Coushatta Casino. It is about a mile north of the casino on the edge of their golf course. They do offer free shuttle service to/from the casino.

If you would be happy staying in a nice Super 8 then you will likely be happy staying here. If you are expecting something better than a nice Super 8 you will probably be disappointed.

I don't know if they had a continental breakfast or not. I didn't think to ask or look for it since I usually do not take advantage of them.

Most of the hotels right around the casino are a bit on the pricey side and this one is no different. There are less expensive places to stay about 5 miles souths in Kinder if cost is a concern.

Room Tip: Ask for a mini-suite. It's only $10/night more but is very roomy.

“Yikes”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

Stayed here on accident through a golf package. Very unappealing. The whole placed smelled and the shower literally DID NOT WORK. It was just a weak spitting of cold then lukewarm water. The other hotels associated with this casino look pretty nice but this was rancid. On the plus side, the A/C worked. Stay at another property if you are going to the casino or golf course (which is overrated)

“Every Year we visit, always GOOD!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

Stayed at the Pines on a Thursday and Friday night. As always we didn't find anything to complain about. Nice cozy, clean room. If there was a down side, the room (bottom floor) has a great view of a brick wall. I believe this is for the protection of the rooms occupants from errant golf balls from the adjacent GREAT Golf Course. Who cares about the view anyway, the only time spent in the room is when its time to sleep from the over indulgence at the Casino. I rate the room and AAA!

“STINKY AND NOT ADA ACCESSIBLE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. There were no Elevators to make the 2nd floor rooms accessible for persons with handicaps. I asked if we could trade rooms for one on the first floor....I was told it was not possible and I could use the stairs. I brought up that their should be a way to access the 2nd floor other than stairs to be in ADA compliance....the young lady said I could write to the company. I will do that as well as this review. Our room, as well as many of our bus mates (we were on a bus trip from austin), REEKED of cigarette smoke. Even the towels and bedding smelled. DO NOT STAY HERE

Room Tip: stay at another hotel
