“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

My husband and I took a weekend trip to NO for his birthday. We actually got the hotel through Priceline because we were already spending a lot of money on his birthday present. The lady at the front desk was actually really nice and she gave good directions. It wasn't until we got our room keys did we find out there was no pool, which wasn't a big deal, just disappointing. Then, we get to the room and it seemed fine until we looked out the window and we were looking into 3 people's back yards so we had to keep the curtains closed the whole visit. Then, we went to get cleaned up and found that you actually have to go to the desk to get toiletries and a blow dryer. Also, if you are staying for less than 7 nights you have to pay 5$ for every time you went housekeeping to come by and pick up/bring towels and more toilet paper/ etc.... You don't really sleep because the beds are hard as a rock and you only get one TINY pillow each. It would be nice if you were provided with some kind of tourist information so that we didn't have to drive around and get lost to find something to do. The front desk actually closes at night so forget trying to have an early wake up call or maybe even check in late. It really just feels like they do as little as possible that they can get away with. Needless to say, we looked forward to being alone, without the baby, in a quiet hotel room for my husbands birthday and we literally ended up driving around after dinner TRYING to avoid going back to the room until we were just going to bed.

“LONG buisness trip”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2008

I stayed at this hotel on a long buisness trip, I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

When arriving in the room after checking in, I noticed how unclean the kitchen and bathroom were. The kitchen still had food on the stove and wall, and the cabinets had a thick layer of dust and grime on the inside. The bathtub had a black ring around it, and would not drain.

Ten days into my stay, the room still had not been cleaned. I finally had to demand the room be cleaned. Upon return that night I inspected the room. The ring was still on the tub, the food still on the wall, the dust still in the cabinet. The carpet was vacumed, the bed sheets changed, and the food was off of the stove. Oh yeah, and my laptop was gone.

When I approached the manager regarding the cleaning issue, and my laptop, she was very unhelpful. I wanted a copy of the report I had to fill out for the hotel, but she wouldnt give them to me. I wanted the maid to fill out a report regarding my laptop, and she said she wouldnt speak to the maid regarding the issue because she didnt want to accuse anyone of taking it. I finally contacted the corporate office, however they havent been much help either. The issue is still trying to be resolved, the room was never properly cleaned either.

“My hand stuck to the kitchen counter...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2007

Stayed at this hotel last week during a business trip. The price was good (84.99/night) and having just started my job, price was an issue for me. Well, you do get what you pay for, don't you?

Arrived late my first night, just a few minutes before the desk closed, thank goodness, because the desk does in fact close! Guess I would have slept in the car that night had my flight been delayed a few minutes longer.

Didn't really inspect the room, other than a quick trip to the bathroom, and the bed. The next morning though, I put my hand down on the kitchen counter, and it stuck there. There was what looked like grease splashes down the side of the fridge, but I believe it was just grime. The top of the coffee maker had a layer of grease and dust on it.

The rest of the room was clean, but the kitchen just creeped me out. I mentioned it to the desk clerk the next evening as I was returning, and was told that she would send housekeeping to 'touch up' the room. Didn't work. The kitchen was still nasty.

It was my first stay at an ESA, and I won't be staying again.

“Ok for a few hours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2007

We stayed for one night (actually, it was only 4 hours) to be closer to the airport on the way back from Baton Rouge. We got it on priceline for $40. It was a decent hotel, only about 10 minutes from downtown NO. The room was big and the kitchen was nice. There was no shampoo in the room, and the bed spread wasn't so nice (we usually stay at Marriott's, so we have gotten used to the white down comforters). The front desk actually closes at night, and when we called for a wake up call, they said they don't do that, that we should just set our alarm clock. Well gee thanks. Also, when we were checking out at 4:30 am to get to our flight, we had to call the woman in the office to get her to come get our key since the front desk was closed. If they are going to close the front desk, at least have a key drop box.

Overall, I might stay here again for one night, but not for a long stay. We stay in residence inn a lot for business, and they are much better.

“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2005

We had never stayed in an efficiency suite before in the US but booked this because we had trouble finding reasonably priced accommodation in New Orleans at a weekend at short notice.

While the suites are not in the city centre, they are easily accessible by car in about 20-30 minutes and are just off I10. Despite this, no traffic noise due to good windows.

Rooms were clean comfortable and everything in the kitchenette worked, staff were friendly.

Excellent value so near a tourist centre.
