I have stayed at this Microtel for several months. The rooms are clean, though unglamorous, and the front desk is friendly. Their breakfast consists mostly of cold, somewhat stale pastries; though they did add a waffle machine. I wish, after staying there on so many occasions and getting to know the employees, who are generally great, I could speak more highly of the Microtel. But my last few visits were very disappointing. I woke up one morning to find a cockroach in the bathroom. And a week or so later, they placed me in a room where the shower had been disabled. Had the shower been enabled, there is no guarantee that it would have worked well, as some rooms have showers that seem to be designed to simulate getting caught in the rain. I am sure, had I asked, in both events they would have happily changed my room, but checking into a hotel shouldn't be a crap shoot -- ideally, I could arrive and not need to comb the room for bugs and test the plumbing.
