This is a very nice TownePlace Suites and exceeded expectations. (I did not have high expectations based on prior experiences with this brand).

It appears to be recently remodeled. Everything appeared to be nice and new including the carpet. It had a 32" LCD TV (no HD though). Basic breakfast, and a basic exercise room but it is what I expected.

The staff was exceptionally friendly which was nice. I think the only con's to this stay was the internet - it was wired and low speed broadband (you could pay $$ for higher speed). I think they should think about making changes to that policy.

As far as where the hotel is located, it was about 15 minutes from downtown N.O. which was fine with us since we didn't want to stay downtown (there are actually other parts to NO than the French Quarter!). It is very close to restaurants and shopping so there is plenty to do but it is not close to any "tourist" type attractions.

I would stay here again.

This would be fine if you were doing business in the area for several days, but it is a bit off the path and hard to find if you are just traveling through on vacation. There is free parking, which is definitely a plus for New Orleans, it was clean, and the one staff person we dealt with was very helpful and friendly. We could never get the internet they provided to work, but didn't ask for help as it was very late. It is definitely designed for the business traveler.
