“Clean, comfortable, basic accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

No problem checking in early around 2 PM on a Monday into a 3rd floor studio suite with king bed, looking out over a Popeye's Chicken next door, but that was never an issue although the view could have been better. But this hotel is in a warehouse/office area, so there's not many scenic views around anyway, and I was there on business and stayed at work long hours during the day, so only was at the hotel at night.

The hotel is still fairly new and well-maintained, but the soundproofing between rooms could certainly have been better, as I heard snoring and phone conversations from neighbors on both sides when the HVAC fan was not running.

Pros:
- Close to my company's office about 3 minutes drive away
- Conveniently located to numerous restaurants in the area...be sure to try Charlie's Seafood and Dockside Seafood and Oyster Bar. The usual franchise restaurants are there too...Applebee's, Shoney's, Wendy's, McDonald's, Subway, etc.
- Complete kitchen with full-size refrigerator (no ice maker), dishwasher, sink, 2-burner stove with oven, and microwave
- LCD TV's with nice selection of channels.
- Free wired and wireless Internet access, but both rather slow
- Free on-site parking
- Comfortable bed, but I was so tired after long days working that it would not have mattered
- Complimentary daily continental breakfasts with limited selection of items including boiled eggs, pastries, cold cereal, hot oatmeal, grits, yogurt, and a variety of beverages, but not many items with protein.

Cons:
- Poor room soundproofing; heard snoring and phone calls next door
- Sluggish lavatory drain in bathroom, but did not bother to call to have repaired while there
- Super-thin wash cloths and towels. I would be embarassed to provide such linens to guests myself.
- No meats, cheese, or hot egg dishes offered at breakfast
- No luggage stand; had to put my suitcase on the closet floor

I may stay at this location when my work travel plans require me to visit here again (it's certainly adequate), or I may try the Hampton Inn a few minutes away...hotels in the immediate vicinity are very limited. I have stayed many times at Homewood Suites by Hilton at various locations around the country (but none close by in Harahan) and they are definitely a step up in quality from Towneplace Suites for about the same price.

“Clean & Inexpensive, but not close to Downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We enjoyed our week long stay here and the ability to save some money on our trip by eating meals we prepared in the kitchen in our suite occassionally. The breakfast was your typical morning hotel spread. The property does seem a bit older, but well taken care of and clean. If you plan to spend most time in the French Quarter, etc.-be aware that is about 25 minutes of driving depending on traffic-but it was fine with us for the savings.

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This is a great place to stay if you want something convenient but less expensive than staying in the heart of New Orleans. We stayed there during Parents' Weekend at Tulane. It was very close to the school, very reasonably priced and had a decent breakfast included. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

“Pretty Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

My husband and I went to New Orleans for our friend's wedding. We arrived pretty late in the evening, but were greeted promptly and had our room in moments of arriving. These suites are nice, although a little on the small side. The bed was pretty comfortable, they have the new trend of square pillows, which was not really comfy trying to sleep, but that can be counted as a personal preference. They do not have snack machines, but have some food and drinks that can be bought at the front desk. Very expensive and they were out of water. We made sure to buy water for the frig the next day.
They do not clean your room every day, but will come by with fresh towels and empty the trash for you. My husband cooked lunch one day on the stove. Said the pots were really on the cheap side, and not really non stick.
We did not take advantage of the breakfast so I cannot comment on that.
Overall, it is not a bad hotel and we did not have any problems. It is close enough to things but far enough away that it was quiet and no big problems with noise or other issues.

“Our first stop after we landed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Landed in New Orleans on the 8 th of October and got our rented car before we headed out for the hotel ,well it wasn´t a easy hotel to find in the dark and we got abit scared when driving there when we left it the next day we could see that it wasn´t anything to have been scared about .
Back to the hotel we found it and got in there and the room or rooms where huge big kitchen -living room , two big bedrooms maybe the bathroom was a smaller one , but it did what it was needed for .
Next day we got a breakfast and then we where on the road again, I think this hotel would have been a really good one for people that stay for longer time , all we really needed was a sleep over so wasn´t nessassary with all the rooms for us

Room Tip: at this hotel I would def recommend a high floor room there is some trafic in the area, but not so m...
