“Where's the Beef?”

The hotel staff were extremely nice and the service was good. The only thing I did not like was the continental breakfast. They served everything you would eat for breakfast, but they were missing meat, i.e. sausage, bacon. Everyone in my party ate the extremely thick waffles and all I had was juice and coffee. This was somewhat of a disappointment.

“WONDERFUL place to stay! Clean, quiet, almost home”

What a find. On the edge of noisy, often-dirty New Orleans, this La Quinta is clean, quiet, professional. The beds are extremely comfortable. Thick walls. Reasonable towels. Very clean room. Real hangers (and an iron) in the closet. Free WiFi that works, plenty of outlets, a desk and two chairs.

The continental breakfast spread is quite reasonable. All the usual sugar/fat junk including the obligatory waffle-maker, plus yogurt, hard boiled eggs, a few kinds of oatmeal, fresh fruit. They even have a real toaster :) (All I could ask for is available splenda/sugar substitute, and foods with more fiber/less sugar -- a cereal like wheaties/bran flakes, and some kind of whole grain bread. Hint to buyer: look for twice as much fiber as sugar! Your diabetic/etc guests will bless you!)

Your choice of inner courtyard rooms, or outside park-by-the-door rooms. (We chose the latter.)

Room Tip: You choose: inside overlooking courtyard, or outside where you can park next to your room door.

“Good value next to NOLA”

This hotel is located right across the river from New Orleans, and was an easy 10 min drive by car to the French Quarter (pay $1 toll to cross the bridge into the city). My wife and I were in town for three nights for New Year's, and every hotel in the city cost an arm and a leg, plus a ridiculous amount for valet only parking. We were able to park free on New Year's Day due to the parking meter holiday in the city, so that was nice. The hotel itself is clearly one that has or is under going renovation. Our room smelled a little musty, but we were able to overlook that. Beds were comfortable, towels not so much. The breakfast was good, but can get a bit crowded at certain times. Overall, this was clearly the best value we found and thought the location was just right.

“Very satisfied with the good LQ quality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stayed here for three nights, although happy with the breakfast in other LQ places this one here is very limited. Happy to have a IHOP just next door, for 24h :)
We had a room on the first floor, just right next to the pool. Pool was nice and clean, hardly someone was using it. Rooms are nice, bathroom too small to move around properly. Our room had a connection door to another room, because of this I think you can hear your neighbor a bit better than it really should. If they talk or snore....you're first row hearing it.
The cabs do have a contract with the hotel so you have to pay a fixed price, if you take a cab back to the hotel it feels cheaper...so I thought the tourist got to pay more than it really should! Try to share a cab with your snoring neighbor...that saves money!
Hotel offers a laundry room, great! All in all my 2nd stay in a LQ and they have a fan now :). The quality is really good for the price
