This hotel was the closest one that I could get to Baton Rouge since it was after the Hurricane had hit and people from New Orleans were using much of the hotels in the area.
Check-in went really well and the rooms were fine. I really liked the high-speed internet access (wired) in the room. There was easy access to the highway and there were a few close restuarants (Chiles is next door, for example) so getting somewhere was a breeze. It wasn't that far away from Baton Rouge either.
My problems were with the staff. I was waiting for a very important FEDEX and my suitcases to be delivered from the airport (btw, the airport -. I was traveling with a group for business and we all lost luggage or had damaged luggage). The person at the counter was disinterested, rude and condescending.
And the worst part ... the maids ....! We were working late nights and getting in at 4am in the morning. We ALL left the "do not disturb" signs on our doors, yet we always got a morning phone call from the maids asking if we needed something. NO, leave me the hell alone! The sign is there for a reason! And if you ignored the call, you would surely get another one a few minutes later. --.
