Stayed with wife and daugter. Great rooms and staff was excellent.
Rooms were clean, beds were crisp and comfy. Breakfast was better than avg. and free. We will stay again when in covington.

We booked your hotel for 4 nights but left after 2.  Hotel was dirty, noisy, service was awful!  We had hardly any towels in our room at check in and when we asked for more we were told you were out.  The next day we got the same amount.  They were mismatched, smelled awful and had holes in them.  The floors were dirty and were not vacuumed in the two days we were there.   You don't have thresholds at the doors so you can hear every noise in the hallway.   Shame on you LaQuinta.  You have turned what could be a very nice hotel into a Motel 6 type facility.  We won't be back and we Definitely won't recommend to others.

They allowed pets which is great.
Clean hotel, clean room, clean bathroom.
Only thing I disliked was the staff member at the hotel when we checked in, did not honor the 2nd nights price from which we booked online, therefore we had to contact corporate to get the price adjusted for what we booked it for. The lady was unwilling to resolve the issue.I just wished they offered more movie stations.
Overall great place to stay will go back again.


Family travel, November 2011

We were driving from Florida back to Texas over Thanksgiving. We stopped at the La Quinta in Covington, LA because we'd had good luck at La Quinta hotels in the past. We got the last double they had since it was late (8pm). The first impression was dirty. The linens were clean, but the room smelled like week-old gym socks. The carpet was dirty also. The bathroom was clean looking, but the toilet wasn't leveled properly and the seat wasn't attached very well. The beds were lumpy and the pillows needed to be replaced. Our room was located between and across the hall from all smoking rooms, so that could have been where the smell was coming from, but we suspected that it could have been previous occupants putting something in the AC unit. The free "full" breakfast tasted about as old as the hotel. The "full" part of the meal was stale bisquits and sausage gravy. The bread for toast was all stale and the bagels were tasteless. We all had instant oatmeal packets instead, but they had been around a while too. But, as they say, free is free. Since it was only for one night and it was the last double room, we put up with it, but we will think twice about staying at another La Quinta.
