“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011 via mobile

My husband and I stayed the weekend here, it is a beautiful house that is well taken care of. We were the only guest on the property and we had a key to the back door of the house and could come and go as we pleased. We stayed in the jenkins suite which is well worth the money, it was absolutely beautiful. The breasfast was wondeful. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet place to spend time with someone.

“Best spot in the area”

What an amazing surprise. I travel to the central Louisiana area twice a month and have tried quite a few motels in the area. While most get by with barely a "pass" I was desperate to find something I could tolerate on a regular basis. I decided to splurge and stay in a B&B one weekend because I was worn out with the sub-par accommodations in the area. Loyd Hall is a hidden gem. It is so quiet and lovely at the plantation. Everything is immaculate from the grounds outside to the rooms, as well as the dining room. There is a welcoming committee of cats that are a joy to see when I arrive. Each room has satellite TV and a kitchen, not to mention clean exotic sheets with giant fluffy beds. (several rooms even have fireplaces) Eddie is more than accommodating and easy to work with. He has been flexible about my arrival times as well as my breakfast needs on both of my stays. OMG, did I mention the breakfast? Fresh OJ, scrambled eggs, perfect bacon, fresh fruit, homemade biscuits and french toast scented with mexican vanilla. The perfect start to my day as I head out on my travels. This will be my regular stop twice a month as I make my way through central Louisiana. Check ahead, this is a favorite spot for destination weddings. Chances are I might see you there if you stay.... I plan to be almost as regular as the plantation cats :)

“Wonderful Bed and Breakfast - Loved Minda's Cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 March 2010

Stayed one night in Minda's Cottage. Really nice and clean. It has a king size bed and a twin bed in another very small room. It had a nice kitchen and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The bed was very comfortable. It had a flat screen tv with many channels. It was so quiet and it is a beautiful setting although just a few miles from the interstate.
The breakfast was really good with scrambled eggs, sausage, strawberries and french toast. We had coffee and orange juice. Following breakfast, we were given a great tour of the house. Eddie (who works there and gives the tour) was so nice and friendly. We really didn't want to leave. I fully intend to go back and be able to spend at least two days. It is about 15 minutes to get to anywhere for dinner. We went to Forest HIll,LA and ate at Mi Tierra which is a great little Mexican food place..

“A good B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2010

My husband and I stayed here after a business trip to Alexandria. We had one of the rooms in the old kitchen. We were able to have a roaring fire in the fireplace on a very cold night. The room was very nice - comfortable king-sized bed, full kitchen, and updated bathroom with shower. We brought food in for dinner and warmed it up in the kitchen because the location is fairly remote. The breakfast was eggs, sausage, and french toast. The host was very friendly, gave us a history and tour of the house, and encouraged us the walk around the grounds.
The only negative is there are two kitchen rooms and you can hear guests talking in the other room. Otherwise it was a warm, cozy, comfortable stay for a rainy, cold, January night.

“Our Fairytale Stay!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2009

My Hubby and I decided to stay here for our honeymoon! We absolutely feel in love as we drove up and saw the picturesque plantation lit up like a fairytale in the night sky! We were immediately welcomed by the owner and everything was ready for our stay! The staff was beyond friendly and we felt like we were in our own little home away from home! The landscaping was beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. We will be back and I also would like to add that this would be a great place to take children!!!
