This B&B, built in 1985, is located in a residential neighborhood, just outside of Houma. Except for one separate apartment located in the backyard (their front and back yards are HUGE) all the rooms are located in the single-story main house. Our room was the furthest back in the house but the most private. We had a very comfortable queen-size bed and comfy pillows. There was a small tv in the room and we had our own private bathroom (attached to the bedroom). There was a common living room with a flatscreen tv and a computer.
Julia and Enis were so nice and welcoming that we felt at home right away. They offer the option of dinner ($13/person extra) so we took them up on that the night we arrived. The dinner, served in their dining room, was excellent (minestrone-type soup, fish, vegetables and a brownie, strawberries and whipped cream for dessert) and elegantly prepared. It was worth the cost - and if you passed on the brownie it was all pretty healthy. Just as good as the meal was the company: Julia and Enis and a lady who helps them (can't recall her name) as well as 6 other guests, all from France. Julia mentioned that 90% of their business is from France. (It helps that both Julia and Enis speak English and French.) We really enjoyed listening to Enis talk about the area's culture and their family history. The next morning at 8:00 we all met again for breakfast - a culinary delight! We had stuffed french toast that was out of this world, homemade jams, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee.
While this may not be the most elegant B&B or the most private, it is probably the best value you'll find in Cajun Country. You really can't go wrong here. And if you should visit, you must get the dinner option!
