“dont waste your time....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Well when i first walk in the hotel it had a very stale smell. It is true you get what you pay for. The prices are very inexpensive but our room was very dusty as if they have not clean the room for months. I had the cleaning crew come in and vacuum, dust and wipe down all the glass twice. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The casino area was fun but smaller that a casino on a cruise.

“Comfortable and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Bed as nice, room was nice. Stayed in a disabled room with walk in shower. Room recently refurnished, was on the ground floor close to the lobby which suited us given the wheelchair requirements. Staff were awesome and went the extra mile. This hotel seemed smaller, may have been its location but as a guest it felt more intimate and personal. Casino offered all the faciltiies we required (we're not big time gamblers at all but enjoy spending a bit of time in there). Felt the food offering was a buit limited but other than that, a great stay.

“Fantastic. Great employees.”

Stayed at Boomtown celebrating our anniversary. What sets this hotel apart is their employees. Attention to detail and a level of friendliness that is refreshing. I highly recommend and will stay here again.

“Could be better for the price...”

My girlfriends and I stayed at this hotel for a birthday celebration weekend. Hotel staff and cleaning crew were friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. However for the price we paid ($159, $169 and $89), some things could have been alot better. For starters, the $100 deposit for room keys? Why? I can see charging that much if you don't bring both keys back but up front before you even get to the room? Don't make sense. Next, the tub appeared to have mold around the edges of it. I was tempted to get some Tilex to see if that wouldn't clear it up, but I didn't bother. I paid too much money to clean the bathroom. Third, the walls of the hotel rooms were very thin. We heard every door that closed, the baby crying in the next room, and the kids or people running up and down the halls. Fourth, the room only had 2 lamps and the ceiling fan didn't include a light. The room was extra dark! Bring your own lighting if you like to see what you are doing. Fifth - for the price paid, one would think a microwave/fridge would have been provided, but it wasn't.
The casino staff were very friendly and inviting towards us. I think over all the hotel is ok, but way over priced. For a few more bucks, I would stay at the Horseshoe and get my moneys worth, while still visiting other casinos.

Room Tip: If you pay more than $89-$99/night, go elsewhere and still visit the casino. The hotel is worth at l...

“This place is on the up and up!”

Boomtown is quickly becoming my casino of choice. They have completely modernized the hotel from head to toe. It is swanky and nice! They have a beautiful albeit small outdoor swimming pool. All of the restaurants are top-notch! Sundance Cantina has a diverse and delicious menu, the steakhouse is wonderful and relatively reasonable, and the buffet is one of the best in this area. Sundance also has one of the best, free, live music scenes in the area. On the third floor of the casino, they now have "The Hangover" slot machines, based on the movie, which are awesome! On each casino floor they also have serve-yourself soda fountains, which is pretty great and they also have Mr. Pibb Extra, which totally rocks! On the first casino floor, they have a 25 cent video poker bar, and out on the floor, they have 5 cent video poker machines which is just icing on the proverbial cake. If I was rolling up into Shreveport-Bossier, I would stay here for a night or two or three.
