We have always stayed at this hotel when visiting Baton Rouge. But it looks like things are beginning to decline at this property. There was a too-strong floral smell when we entered our room, and when we turned on the air conditioner it smelled like the filter should have been changed a couple of years ago. The mirror was cracked, and some of the towels that had once been white had acquired stains. The waffle maker was gone from the breakfast area, and the remaining breakfast options were rather slim. The coffee in the lobby is still equal to the finest hotel coffee I have had anywhere. It is very likely careless guests who cracked the mirror and stained the towels, but the maintenance of the air conditioner and the breakfast choices are the responsibility of management. We have decided to pay ten dollars more per night and move next door to the LaQuinta on our next trip to Baton Rouge.
