I just conducted a conference at this hotel and spent one night. Most of the staff are friendly and puts forth an effort to be helpful. There seems to be some serious management issues here. The front desk could not locate my fax and I had to call my secretary to re-fax the information. However, the next day one of the employees showed up with my original fax. One a couple of occasions I asked the front desk for some assistance with the conference room (turning on the air conditioner and getting me a flip chart). The indicated they would contact the correct department, but then failed to follow through.
The rooms are typical Marriott, but the bedding really needs to be replaced. The mattress in my sleeping room was severely worn. Although I stayed on the club level, the food items were very limited both in the evening and morning. Interestingly, one of the staff told me that occupancy at the hotel was only about 50%. Perhaps if the owners would put some money into the property and management would do a little better job training staff, people would be staying at the hotel more frequently.
My conference room was not set to my written specifications adn it was very difficult to get any level of cooperation. I have asked my staff to put this hotel on my "Do Not Use" list for the future. The location is good and there appears to be plenty of parking. The elevators are some of the slowest I have ever encountered.
