“Hotel With Quiet and Character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel while we moved her into LSU. Room was large with sitting area, small kitchenette, free wireless, and clean bathroom. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs even allowing me to ship a package to my daughter at the hotel address after we left the hotel and before she got a campus mailbox. Hotel has the style of French Quarter in New Orleans and very quiet. Breakfast was good as well. Only a few miles from downtown, shopping, and about 6 miles from LSU campus.

“Completely Overated: A candid review”

As an education advocate, I often travel to Baton Rouge for the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education meetings. My job booked me rooms at this hotel (or should I say glorified MOTEL) on two occasions.

To begin with, the location is in an isolated area of town, with low income apartments only yards away on N. Lobdell Street...

The building is very aged, and the pictures on the site are very misleading. The rooms have an odor (which can be compared to that of old urine). The complimentary breakfast is typical of a low budget hotel.

In all fairness, the staff was nice, and the rooms were clean. However, I think it may be time to go ahead and invest in a newer building. The WIFI was free unlike many hotels, and the parking can be chaotic if you step out to grab a bite.. very small lot.

There is a giant awning that states "ALL Suite Hotel..." I don't think throwing a chair or aged couch in a motel room makes it a suite...

DEFINITELY WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!!!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Large room, clean, and a great price! The staff was very friendly and the hotel has a really homey like feel to it. Microwave and refrigerator are nice perks as well as the complimentary breakfast. Relaxing environment!

“Nice hotel! Large room, good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This hotel is an older building. If it were built today, I don't think the rooms would be as large. The employees were friendly. The breakfast was good and as I mentioned the rooms were large (and we had a standard room). The mattress seemed a little old and was not the best. If we had brought our children, I don't think they would have liked the sofa bed. It looked lumpy. Overall, I enjoyed this hotel. I don't know if I would stay here again since I like to be closer to Corporate but my husband said that he would, especially for the price! Also, I was told by a few friends that were familiar with the area not to walk around outside at night. It seemed okay to me but there wasn't really anywhere to walk to.

This hotel was lovely! Big comfortable room, Beautiful courtyard/breakfast area. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback was not the hotels fault - Mapquests directions to this hotel were completely wrong - we ended up following a friendly local woman who knew the area.
