“Smelly, sketchy, sad.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Our room was large, and our reservation was honored. That's the end of the good news. The bad news; frayed, dirty carpets in both the public and the guest rooms. An air conditioner that sounded like a 747 coming in for a landing. Overall lack of real cleanliness - and a really icky smell that pervaded the room, which someone had tried to mask with what smelled like gallons of a Febreze knock-off. Seriously, the whole odor mix was enough to keep you awake. It borders a whole neighborbood of very down at heel public housing projects, and is convenient to nothing much, if you don't know your way around well enough to manage the side streets. The "breakfast" was powdered eggs, the cheapest possible supermarket pastries, instant grits, and very sketchy looking sausage. Spend a few extra bucks and get a better hotel, closer to what you're there for.

“Tucked away from I-10, but worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

we were looking for a good, reasonably-priced alternative while driving through louisiana. this was a nice find for us - friendly staff, good-sized, clean rooms, and a very ample breakfast buffet. not the greatest location if you want to be closer to nightlife, but definitely safe, quiet, and only a few miles off the interstate.

“Quiet & Clean, Would Stay Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

We only stayed one night, but our king room was a perfect place to crash after an exciting weekend in Nola. The room was extremely spacious with a mini-fridge, table, microwave. The vanity/sink area were seperate from the toilet & shower area. Bed was comfy. The hotel itself imitates the French Quarter in design. All of the room face inside to a courtyard/atrium area where breakfast is served. There is only one entrance/exit to the hotel, which creates a sense of security. There is a bar, sauna, whirpool & outdoor pool. All of the facilities were clean and comfortable & the staff is courteous and helpful. The breakfast consisted of eggs, waffles, sausage, cereals, breakgast, juice, etc. More than what is offered at most hotels. An excellent value for a clean, comfrtable hotel. I would stay here again and recommend it to the traveler looking for value & comfort!

“Softball heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

We stayed here for an 18U Gold qualifier for softball. The staff was gracious to 13 families and their teenage daughters. Ms. Mary is awesome! Ms. Candice in the lounge is amazing - go visit her if you wanna unwind and just hang out. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. My husband actually wanted to bring the bed home with us. All the rooms open to a French Quarter style courtyard where they serve breakfast.

I would definately stay again no matter the circumstance.

“Nice stay, unique property, bad location but would stay again for sure.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

We were in town for a softball tournament at Oak Villa Park (only 7 minutes away) and stayed at the property strictly off the reviews on TripAdvisor...I took a shot because not all of them were too flattering. Well, we arrived and it is not much to look at from the outside...not really run down just somewhat questionable. The interior was nice and just fine, very unique in style and pleasing. Check in was quick and the young man at the front did a good job and was freindly.
The room was HUGE with 2 doubles, a sitting area with fridge and microwave, and teh bathroom was laid out outstanding (other properties take note). The bath and toilet was in a seperate room with the dressing area outside the door, then that whole area was seperated from the sleeping area by another door...excellant and private while you do not disturb those sleeping getting ready in the morning.
The room furnishing were somewhat dated and teh room had the used look of an older property but it was very clean, comfortable, and did I say HUGE! The breakfast in the morning was better than most with great eggs, sausage, waffles, and the rest.
We were told, and it is pretty evident, that the location and part of town is NOT the best, rough, lots of vacant buildings, somewhat scary but the property sits off by itself and we felt safe in the parking lot and property but drive 2-3 blocks either way, not too good. It is not close to anything so you will have to drive but that's ok, you dont want to walk anywhere.
We would definantly stay here again should we be back in town and I would reccommend it for the softball teams but if you are coming to town to vacation, sorry but it seems a good 20 minutes from anything touristy.
