The B&B was really special, decorated for the Christmas holidays. The breakfast was delicious, healthful and satisfying. The location was central to downtown Baton Rough, LSU, several plantation tours, and many, many restaurants. The 1-10 was far enough to not bother us and convenient enough to get to our many destinations. I wish that the weather had bee better to take advantage of the beautiful grounds around the B&B. We loved it! Janice, our Inn Keeper, was also our chief cook and bottle washer, and provided us with a doctor's name and location for some health issues that our daughter had. I strongly recommend the Stockade.

The Stockade is, hands down, our favorite place to stay in Baton Rouge. The proprietor, Janice DeLerno, is accommodating and flexible. Her rooms are big and comfortable, and the gardens are lovely. The back veranda is beautiful, even in winter, and I'm telling you, you won't find a better tasting bowl of grits in all of Baton Rouge.

...and while the BREAKFAST was great, the BED in our Garden Suite room was terrible. Great property otherwise. We stayed all over Louisiana on our trip, but this was the worst night's sleep we had the whole time!

He signed the guest book too! I really wanted to see the place where they filmed the French restaurant in the show True Blood. My husband and I needed a place to stay during our trip to Louisiana after spending a couple of nights in New Orleans with no sleep. Fortunately we got a room at the Stockade. I was so excited! I didn't know what to expect from a bed and breakfast like this one. To my delight the bed was very comfortable. They have free WiFi and very nice amenities. The whole place just feels so much like home. You could easily grab one of the many books available and a soda and just curl up on the sofa in the main room. It's so quiet and peaceful. The other guests we met at breakfast were very nice and cordial. We enjoyed meeting the couple from Sweden,the man from France and the other couple from Charlotte NC. The innkeeper is as sweet as can be and treated us all very well. Superior hospitality. If you ever need a restful place to stay in Baton Rouge, book this bed and breakfast. It will be your best decision, I promise.
