We stayed here on a recent Saturday night and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Our room was actually a first-floor suite with a beautiful separate bedroom, separate bath with bathtub/shower, 2 high definition flatscreen televisions, a gas fireplace that you could set the length of time for it to burn, new refrigerator, microwave, dishes, table, couch, nice carpet, breakfast included, great location and more. We got a complementary Wall Street Journal, a local Saturday and a Sunday paper included.
If If you tried to enter the hotel through any door other than the front entrance, you had to open it using your room key, even during daylight hours. The same held true for the front entrance after a certain time or you had to ring a bell and be admitted. The main entrance area contained access to the Internet (which was also available in the room). There was a seating area across from the front desk with a fireplace and it was very nice visiting with family and friends there.
The room was very quiet and the mattress on our king-sized bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever found at a hotel. The workout room was adequately equipped and well maintained. Shopping was available nearby and there were many restaurants, included a Carraba's nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The ice machine worked very well and was easy to operate. Parking was not a problem as there was sufficient space both in front and back. The price for the room was most reasonable.
My wife and I will definitely stay here again if we have occasion to spend the night in Baton Rouge.
