“Amazing Place with a tremendous breakfast”

Stayed at the Lod Cook as part of a wedding. The entire facility was first rate. The rooms were as nice as any Marriott I've ever stayed in (I'm a Platinum with Marriott). Great rate and what a breakfast spread! Everything from healthy to great Southern Specialties. Everyone in our wedding party commented on how nice everything was. Many guests were world travelers and came from all over the United States and Canada. Simply could not have been better.

“Clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

I recently traveled to Baton Rouge to help set up my son at LSU. We stayed at The Cook Hotel. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. We thought we were getting Tempurpedic mattress as advertised on another website, but instead the mattress was a different brand- Sealy. The down side for the hotel was that it was very inconvenient to the shopping areas and places to eat. We had alot of running around the shopping areas to set him up in his dorm. The staff on the first night that we arrived wasn't very friendly, the breakfast staff however, was very friendly. I'm not sure if I would stay there again.

“This is a great find in Baton Rouge”

We have stayed at Lod Cook two times -- once a couple of years ago and then once just last night. Both times we have been extremely satisfied with the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel, the friendliness and competence of the staff and the comfort of the rooms. The first time we stayed there we had a standard king room and it was very nice--a good value for around $100 per night. For last night's stay we tried to book a standard king but they were booked so we booked a king suite for a few dollars more. It was perfect because we had our three year old daughter with us and she could sleep in the separate living room. There was also a very nice kitchen in the suite that we didn't use or need for this stay but it would be very functional if you did want to cook a meal for whatever reason. The LSU - themed decor of the rooms is a neat plus right down to the purple and gold carpet -- very festive but understated and tastefully done. Breakfast was complimentary and it was delicious. We will stay here the next time we need to spend the night in Baton Rouge.

“The best experience in Baton Rouge.”

I recently stayed at the Cook Hotel and experienced great service and an excellent atmosphere.. I was unaware that I could stay at the hotel as a general member of the public. I thought that I had to be a member of the LSU staff or facility to enjoy the place. I was wrong. The general public is welcome to the hotel and the staff could not have been more responsive to my needs. The rooms are beautiful, with great beds and good flat screens TVs.

“Relaxing Weekend Getaway”

I came down to visit my son who attends LSU, and the accomodations are wonderful! The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They were helpful in showing us to our room, and once there things only got better. Our suite had a beautiful view of the LSU lakes, and room was tastefully furnished with purple and gold, as well as images of the campus. There is very much a down-home, welcoming atmosphere here. We were treated not only like guests but like family. If you come to Baton Rouge, stay here!
