“Not a good night's sleep here.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

Room was spacious and clean but dated. Staff was friendly. Easy access to I-10, downtown, LSU, but hotel is located around strip clubs and bars. They left out the soundproofing in this hotel; like trying to sleep in a dorm. Probably the noisest hotel we've ever stayed in. Breakfast was mediocre. Comfort Suites are usually decent but not this one. Would not stay here again.

“Dated hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Stayed here Sunday night during Memorial Day weekend. Arrived at the hotel at noon but we were there too early to check in. They had been sold out the night before and sold out Sunday night too. We went off to a concert till midnight. Came back and got our room keys. Went to the room to find out our bathroom light was not working. Since it was late and we were all exhausted we didn't bother calling to have it fixed. When we looked at it in the morning, we found that water had been leaking into the fixture from the bathroom above and most likely shorted out. You would think the maid that cleaned the room would have notifed the staff that the light needed fixed. Some other things: lamp shades had burn holes in them, carpet had divots taken out of it. Overall pretty bad experience. The best thing about the hotel was the waffel maker in the morning.

“Don't expect to sleep.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2010

If you want to get any sleep stay somewhere else. In fact my wife almost went out to the parking lot to sleep in the car. Between the extremely loud airconditioner that seemed to ignore any settings, jolting click from the fridge when it turns on, the constant slamming doors all night, to the neighbors phone conversation easily bleeding through the wall you will get about 1hr of sleep if you are lucky. It also did not help that the message light blinked non-stop despite no message actually being on the phone.

The beds are squishy in a bad way, and they give you these half size pillows that have no support. There are no blankets, just a 1970's looking comforter that feels more like you are using a curtain.

The room was barely cleaned, the highlight being my bed covered in hair. My wife has animal allergies an was sneezing the whole time in the room, so figure out that one.

The front desk person was pleasant and helpful when we requested a Ethernet cable, but of course the internet did not work in the room. Breakfast was included but we skipped it fearing their lack of cleanliness extended to their kitchen.

I have stayed at a variety of hotels ranging in price and this was by far one of the worst. I can't believe some of the people here gave this hotel such a high rating.

“No problems ~ Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2009

Driving from Florida to Texas and ended up in Baton Rouge for the evening. At the I-10 Exit with College Avenue, there are any number of hotels. We opted for the rather new looking Comfort Suites - partly because of a $65 room rate advertised in a travel guide. Check in was efficient and the clerk accepted the discounted rate. Lobby was spacious and clean. We had a first floor room not to far from the lobby. Room was nicely appointed. Nothing extravagant but everything worked and looked in decent shape. Only complaint was the microfridge was a tad loud. Bed was comfortable and outside noise minimal. Breakfast included standard continental items supplemented by little omelets, bacon, and make-your-own waffles. Overall, no problems. Would stay there again. The hotel ad cited "walking distance to restaurants..." Of the two closest restaurants, one was a Comedy Club and the other a Gentleman's Club. Neither was open on that Sunday night. The hotel did have a business center with two computers and printers. In-room wireless internet worked just fine.
