Very accomodating, very friendly, EXCELLENT value for money.

I'd avoid Saturday nights, one of the most popular night clubs in town is 100 yrds away.

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. When I made my reservations, the only request I had made was that we be in a room that was the farthest from the elevators as I am a very light sleeper and wake up every time the elevator dings. Low and behold, if we didn't get off the elevator and see that our room was right in front of the elevator!! Needless to say, I got right back on the elevator and went back down to the desk to change rooms.

The hotel has a very nice atrium with most of the rooms opening out upon it. They were having some sort of artificial respiration classes going on this night until about 10 oclock, which was a little distracting as you could hear them counting as they were pumping on the dummy's chest. But, we just turned the t.v. up a little louder. :-) They had a nice breakfast area and a large lobby area to congregate if you had a large party.

We knew we were in for it when as we approached the hotel we looked up at mangled old blinds. when we went into the lobby the hotel was dark, ugly and stuffy. The air conditioning was clearly not on in the main areas of the hotel(They claimed it was to be green and save energy). It was stuffy and smelled moldy. We were informed from fellow travelers that the air conditioning was not working well and that they had to buy fans at walmart for their room after they arrived at 2AM and the room was uncomfortably hot. We checked in and another fellow traveler mentioned that they had a plexiglass window that had been clearly there for awhile as a replacement for a broken window. The caulking was yellowed and cracked and when her sons leaned against the window it dislodged. They also had mold on their ceilings and shower curtains. We all had to stay the night as we were already in past the drop dead date. After an uncomfortable sleep I awoke to an eye swollen shut from the mold. I was itching from about an hour after I arrived till a few hours after I left the hotel. I also think I got bitten by bed bugs in the middle of the night.

Our vent in the bathroom was moldy and overall the hotel seemed very dirty. The construction in the area and traffic was awful. It was impossible to make a left turn outside of the hotel to get on the Hwy.

The breakfast was subpar and we couldn't get out of there fast enough the next morning. There was no way I was staying another night let alone another hour. Other travelers in my party that stayed were certain that their sheets were never changed and also saw mold around the drinking fountains and other areas.
This is not a $100 hotel; it is a $50 at best. If you must stay in Baton Rouge and want a clean updated convenient room, stay at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites or Drury Inn or Fairfield Suites over on Essen park.

The service here was outstanding. we asked for extra towels and the gentleman at the front desk brought them over very quick. They were very accommodating and quick to please. I would stay here over and over again. It is also obvious that this place is under new management and is looking better than the last time I stayed. I can't wait till my next visit to see what else has changed.
