And it shows. This Hotel is now under private ownership and has serious problems. We were staying 3 nights while our house was being sprayed.. All the rooms (we've been in 3, on our 2nd night) smell terrible. Beds are hard. We are traveling with a child, so when the tub had no drain plug, it wasn't a big deal, we moved to another room. The comforter in our 2nd room was stained along with the lamp. The remote for the TV didn't work. When we discovered ants in we asked to be moved, again. While checking the drawers to make sure there was nothing left behind, we discovered 2 empty beer can in a drawer. During our first morning, the milk was soured from staying out with no ice. Looked at the eggs and sausage, but the heating tray wasn't putting out enough heat to keep things at a safe temperature. STAY AWAY

The first thing I noticed was that someone had spilled something all over the lobby floor and down the hall to the elevator. I assumed that staff had not had time to clean it up, but it was still there in the morning. The elevator was dirty and the hall carpets were filthy. The ac in the room did not work well. On the flip side, the beds were very firm, but comfortable and the linens appeared clean. The cleanliness of the room was questionable as we saw dust bunnies on the bathroom floor and lots of lint on the lamps. Wtih a little maintenance and better housekeeping this could be a nice place, but I'd suggest skipping this one for now. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Arrived late and nearby hotels were full or we would have never checked in. Sign was not lighted so we drove by the hotel twice. From outside it was dark and parking lot made hotel look like it was abandonded. Finally called the hotel to make sure it was actually still in business. Clerk was reassuring so we decide to take a chance. Had to literally pry front doors apart to enter. Clerk said "happens all the time" -SAFETY HAZARD- ..and then our stay went downhill. We booked 3 nights but cancelled after one night and moved to a Hampton 3 miles down the Interstate. They were as different as Detroit and Disney World.

On the positive side, the bed was clean and the coffee was good.

This motel is just off I10, and not far from all the main Baton Rouge attractions.

Even though we had no reservations and used a coupon, we were greeted as if we were royalty. We were quickly checked in with a smile, with all our requests being met. The room we wanted wasn't quite ready, but we only had to wait a few minutes while the staff immediately finished preparing it. The room itself was spacious, VERY clean, and the bed comfortable.

Breakfast was a notch above others. One morning we had delicious breakfast burritos and sausage. Another, biscuits and gravy. Because I loved the burritos so much from the day before, two of them were prepared especially for me. My kind of place!
