“Your basic Fairfield Inn -- a good location, clean, and affordable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2007

My husband and I booked here last minute after finding that we needed to stay in Baton Rouge for the evening.

I'm neutral on this hotel as it did what I expected it to do. I'd stay here again if I needed a basic, functional place to stay. No frills, but it's clean, safe, and affordable. It was clean, in a safe area, and affordable. It also was easy to get to off of the highway.

Breakfast was free and adequate, although served in a small room. Breakfast was primarily continental, although there were frozen sausage sandwiches that could be heated in the microwave.

It's right next to its sister hotel, Springhill Suites. That, however, was about $20 more. I wouldn't pay the extra, instead saving the money for a great meal in BR.

“Nice and clean, but just average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2007

We stayed one night while passing thru. Clean, however we stayed on 3rd floor and the hallway smelled of smoke bad. Got in teh room and teh odor went away.
Breakfast was good, 3 hot items offered waffles, breakfast sandwichs and biscuts and garvy. The Breakfast Room was small. We would stay again.

“Nice Hotel, Good Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2007

We stayed here over the Christmas weekend and were able to get a nice holiday rate ($80) for a King suite. The suite was on the first floor and came with a sofa, fridge and microwave. The room was huge! Very tall ceilings, at least 11 feet.

The bathroom was clean and the shower worked fine. The sink is separate and I found the counter space a little cramped.

The staff were *extremely* friendly. The hotel was undergoing construction on the top floor and they gave out little gift bags to the guests as a thank-you gesture. Noise was not a problem. The pool looked to be medium sized and there was a jacuzzi.

Breakfast was really nice - better than Hampton Inn. There were: biscuits, sausage gravy, frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches, bagels, toast, donuts, fruit, waffle makers and waffle batter, toppings, hot oatmeal, and boiled eggs just to name a few items.

The hotel is right off the interstate exit. It's down a small street with just a few other businesses on it. Then it dead ends. Really remote looking, but safe enough. There is a gas station on the corner. So there's not much to walk to, but if you drive there are restaurants and stores nearby.

“Nice place to stay”

Stayed at the Fairfield for work. This place was just what I expect from a Marriott property. Clean, good breakfast and very, very helpful workers at the front desk. It's located right off the interstate and near many good places for dinner. Seemed to be a very good value for the area. When back again I will stay here.

“Incredible Five Star Service! Highly recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2006

The customer service at this hotel is on par with that found in exclusive five star resorts. I haven't had service like this, from every single hotel employee, ever! The front desk personnel were very cordial. The manager left a personal message with her cell phone number on my desk. The maids were extra kind. The maintenance person was genuinely nice. I am so impressed with this hotel, that I HAD to write a review. I highly recommend this Fairfield.

The room was spacious, with a high ceiling. It smelled clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable. The linens were clean and soft. The internet connection was wireless, free, and it worked the first time. The shower had nice water pressure, a good shower head, a drain that worked, and a curved curtain rod. The bathroom had an exhaust fan. This room had a mini-fridge and a microwave.

The mini-fridge will come in handy if you stay here and decide to eat at Boutin's, just down the road.

I feel that this hotel is a great value for the money, and I highly recommend visitors staying in the Baton Rouge area to stay here. I don't review lightly, and I am not the biggest fan of Marriott brands in general, but this Fairfield was excellent.
