It smelled like pesticide in the lobby entrance. The walls were so thin the sounds of the love making in the next room were quite vivid. Overhead it sounded like a herd of elephants. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant, though. For a few bucks more, stay in a decent three star in Baton Rouge.
We stayed at fairfield just this month. It was a very humorous stay for an all girls weekend, many of the laughs supplied by the short comings of our hotel. First we were issued two keys and only one worked and it took atleast 3 tries to get in. Second the elevator was so freaking loud and it smelt like death. We think something is dead in that elevator. Third as the weekend progressed the smell in our room became horrible. It smelt like a dumpster when we had little to no garbage. Fourth the smell of the pool is overbearing and it was kinda green. The temperature of the water was wonderful however there were millions of ants in the pool area. And the window between the work out area and pool area was so filthy. There literally was a face on the window where someone was smushed against the glass. The hotel is in a great location and the staff was wonderful. We had a blast and never complained because we were there to have fun and over all had an awesome time but they need a new cleaning crew like crazy. I don't know who taught them to clean but I am pretty sure it had to be pig pen.
My room smelled. It was damp and dingy. The bathroom fan had bugs coming out of it. Stay somewhere else if you have any choice.
Walls, were thin, you could hear everything and everyone in the hallways. Beds were comfy, easy on off with I-10.
