This is a well kept establishment. We stayed here in September 2010 and again in June 2011 and noticed no change in comfort or quality. Rooms are decent size and very clean. There is a nice looking pool which we have not used. The morning breakfast is wonderful. Most anything one would want is there. In the past we have stayed at two other locations in Winchester and they do not measure up to this Best Western.

This hotel needs renovating. It is only within walking distance of a Burger King, so if you want more than that, you would have to drive. Rooms are spacious enough and clean, although we had no hand towels supplied. Fridge and microwave in room. Bathroom is very small.The breakfast area is small and there is nothing special about the breakfast. The spread (butter, margarine) is a vegetable oil spread that you squeeze from a bottle - yuk! If you want to use the computer in the lobby, you have a 5 minute maximum time limit. Fortunately we had our own and the wi fi was good. Plenty of parking, but just a basic motel for an overnight stop.

People at desk were very nice, housekeeping was attentive, but the place is in desperate need of renovation. We smelled cat urine in the stairwell--no big deal since it's outside and we only briefly passed through. But during a steady but not heavy rain, the cat urine smell started to permeate our room. I can only assume there is a ventilation problem somewhere. Sheets were stained and bedding had cigarette burns in it. Room was non-smoking, but there was a smell of smoke from past users. Alarm clock couldn't be set. All in all, a poor experience.

We stopped here mid trip going from WI to NC without reservations and no real idea what we were getting into...we were just looking for somewhere inexpensive to get a few hours rest. Check-in was very easy and the lady behind the desk was pleasant, giving us information on the free morning breakfast (which we did enjoy...waffle machine, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, biscuits and gravy, toast and muffins)and answering our questions of a good place to get something to eat.
The room was clean and had everything we needed for a quick sleep (beds!). The bathroom was very small but clean with everything we needed. The parking lot is another story!! The entrance is very steep and there is quite a bit of traffic so getting in and out was a bit of a wait and you wanted to have a bit of a run to get up there :).
As our daughter lives in NC, I imagine this a trek we will be taking often and have put this hotel as our midway stopping point for future visits.
