“Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We stopped by for one night while on our way to the Smoky Mountains. Room was larger than most in this price range but was a little rouge around the edges. The advertised RV/truck parking does not exist; one simply finds space in the regular parking lot. While it worked out okay, it always makes me nervous that someone may park too close when the lot fills and I won't be able to get out. The owners were friendly and the pool was great. Overall, this hotel was adequate for one night while passing through but nothing special.

“Clean, good value.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

For the money, this was a good place to stay on our way to Michigan. It was clean and fairly well maintained. Not perfect but just some cosmetic stuff. The best advice I can give about staying at a Americas Best Vaule Inn is to know how this chain is operated. First, all properties are individually owned. Not all owners are the same when it comes to maintenance and cleanliness. You will not find the consistancy that you will find in say a Marriott property but the cost of a stay is much cheaper also. Try calling the property you are planning on staying at direct. You will probably be quoted and better rate than if you book through the 800 number. The individual motels have to pay a big fee to the franchise. This motel has a nice swimming pool. The staff was very courteous and breakfast quite adequate.

“If you're only concerned about the bottom line...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011

The reviews on Tripadvisor were not horrible, and we knew we would not make it to this hotel before 11:00PM, so we booked a room there, knowing it was inexpensive and should be sufficient for an approximate 9 hour stay at most. The creepy part was that at 11:00 at night, there was evidence of only one other guest staying at this hotel. The woman at the desk said people would still be coming in after that as they decide not to drive further that night. By morning, I saw one other car. She also kept referring to "the owner" who I am quite sure is her husband. She said he has owned the property just since early 2011. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, and if you shut the bathroom door, you would think you were in a more expensive place. The bathroom needs gutted. The bath has tiles with black around them, etc., but maybe they are hoping to renovate. We also had absolutely no hot water. I mentioned this in checking out, and the young girl sitting behind the desk said, "Oh, I thought we fixed..." and then her voice trailed off as she realized that probably wasn't what she should have said. This is an older two story motel with all exterior doors and the office sitting across the parking lot. They said there's going to be an amusement park built there and when that happens they must figure they'll be sitting pretty. All in all, I would not stay there again. Dry Ridge, which is just a few minutes away, has more options.

“Surprisingly Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

My family and I were looking for a place to stay when we saw America's Best Value Inn and Days Inn from the highway. Being more comfortable with the Days Inn franchise, we decided to stay there. However, after checking two rooms and noticing the putrid smell and broken light fixtures, we decided to get a room at America's Best Value Inn, right up the street. We paid $59 and were surprised at the cleanliness and up-to-date-ness (not exactly modern, however). We dropped our bags off and then went to the Mexican Restaurant next to the motel. The food was arguably the most authentic Mexican cuisine I have ever had. Moreover, the beds gave my family one of the best sleeps we have had. In the morning we were able to eat breakfast and be on the road with no hitches.
