“Nice pit stop on way to Mammoth Cave.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2011

We stayed here one night on our way to Mammoth Cave. Arrived at 11 pm and basically went straight to bed. The room was clean and the man checking us in was nice. The room was a nice size. Breakfast consisted of: bagels, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, doughnuts, muffins, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, and juice and coffee. Would stay here again.

“Room was great till I got woke up to a bed bug...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2010

Im currently staying in this Ramada in Sparta, and after fighting a long hard days work in 15-20 degree weather, I come to relax. Only to wake up 3 hours into my nights sleep to a bed bug... I called the front desk to ask if they have had any problems with this and the desk clerk says: "no",.. Obviously. So i searched the linens further to find nothing, but in the mean time i have to work in less than 2 hours now and cannot sleep, and have the worries in my head my clothing may be contaminated due to having my bags relavently close to the bed and on the floor. I do hope this matter is handled properly and the desk will be hearing mt piece of mind come time to check out. ( Calmly in a respectable manner of course) But something here needs done to make this right, its slightly to almost over-whelmingly bothersome. Depending on the how this matter is handled is depending on whether i would recommend this room again or not.

We take all reports in this matter very seriously. We had never had a reported case of this type since our opening in July 2003. Upon notification by this guest, the manager went to the room not only to remove all bedding, but to inspect this room as well. (In a conversation with the guest, the Guest openly admitted to having his new home infested with these pests a few months ago.)

Upon Checkout of this guest, the room was put out-of-order, and the bedding was again removed and a licensed Pest Control company was contacted. During their inspection, THANKFULLY NO additional pests were discovered. Taking this matter seriously, we still proceeded to have this room professionally treated. (This process takes approx 3 weeks to complete). All pictures, bedding, curtains, baseboards, etc are removed and room is thouroughly inspected and treated with their approved chemicals. The surrounding rooms are also inspected.

As of this writing, we are in week #2 awaiting reinspection/retreatment of this room. The company will come out during week #3 for a final inspection/treatment. If the OK is given, this room can be put back into service. We have every confidence that this treatment will be successful.

The management and housekeeping staff have been trained by our Pest Control Company in exactly where and what to look for so that we may be PROACTIVE in preventing this type of occurance in the future.

“Perfect for Race Weekend; would stay here anytime!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

Our recent trip was our second consecutive year staying at the Sparta Ramada for the Indy Car race weekend. The room does not come cheap for race weekend, but as someone who dreads the traffic hassles of leaving a racetrack, especially for a night race, being able to walk between hotel and track is priceless.

The service is nothing short of complete Southern hospitality. The front desk staff has always been helpful with suggestions and directions for restaurants and golf courses. The continental breakfast was similar to other like chains (Hampton, Fairfield, HI Express).

Other than the racetrack, there is not much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, however is conveniently right off of the freeway (I-70) and in between Cincinnati and Louisville, so would be a good overnight during a road trip.

THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT REVIEW! We truly appreciate hearing back from our guests.

It does get quite hectic during race events, but we all have fun. With the addition of the Sprint Cup Race here for July 2011, there should certainly be some growth in this area, but we will maintain our "charm and personality"!

We hope to see you again.

“Race Fans, here is your hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

When traveling across country for business we prefer to stay at a rural location if possible, as long as we are not giving up on quality. Well this Ramada definitely fits the bill. Only about 30 miles from CIncinnati this Ramada is a convenient commuter stop. The driveway is a bit daunting but you don't have to worry about staying with a bunch of truckers, they could never maneuver up the driveway. But there is a reason. This hotel sits atop a hill directly overlooking the racetrack. If you are a race fan this hotel is for you. Lovely driveup, warm and friendly welcome. The staff here is wonderful. The hotel is 4 floors and does have a very efficient elevator. The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was well maintained. TV, Internet, ironing board, real coffee pot with good coffee. The only thing lacking is a fridge. The bed and linens were very good and very clean. The bath was all in working order. The breakfast had donuts, breads, boiled eggs, juice, weak coffee, etc... but nothing hot such as waffles or biscuits and gravy which I would expect at this hotel. A bit disappointed by that but for $55 plus tax for 2 I guess it is acceptable. I don't usually write restaurant reviews but Jewell's down the road in Warsaw,Kentucky is well worth the drive - you will be pleasantly surprised.

WE TRULY APPRECIATE THE GREAT REVIEW! We look forward to hearing back from all of our guests.

We all have fun working here right next door to the Track. I have posted a copy of your review for all of the staff to review. I have also forwarded a copy of the comments to the Owners in regard to the Room Fridges and driveway conditions.

We hope to see you again.

“Nice room crappy customer service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

Had driven all night and only needed to stay for a few hours. They were only at 25% occupancy and wouldn't give us a discount and charged full price. The clerk said he didn't know how to give a discount and when we checked out a different clerk could, but was rude. The room was nice, with exception of the sheets that felt like papertowels.

Thank you for taking the time out to write a review on our property regarding your stay with us. We do look forward to receiving comments-good or bad- these only help us to stay focused on providing the best experiences possible.

I do apologize for the poor customer service that you stated that you received. After looking into this matter further, the record did indicate that a nominal discount that was applied, (AAA?), and also that an extended checkout time was offered due to the late hour that you had checked in. The original night clerk that you had first encountered had just began his employment with us. Since your stay, ALL CLERKS have been re-trained in regard to our overnight rate policies and they also attended a customer service workshop.

We sincerely hope that if you are ever in our area again, that you give us another opportunity to accommodate you.
