We booked 8 rooms for family to come in for my daughters wedding. Cynthia was wonderful! She was friendly and treated us all like important family! The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast is excellent with fresh cinnamon rolls and bacon, eggs, biscuits, etc. I have never had a free breakfast this good before! If we needed anything the hotel staff was quick to respond. The hotel staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Cracker Barrel is just 1/4 of a mile down the road which means more good eating! We will definately stay here again when we are in the area!

The good: nice sales manager (Cynthia), quiet location, nicely appointed room
The bad: TV & channels, noisy HVAC unit

We were on the road and checked in with no reservation. We were told there were plenty of rooms over the phone, and were given a great rate rather than be charged full price with the hopes we were too tired to complain. Cynthia, the sales manager, was friendly on the phone and welcomed us when we arrived. She was humorous and chatted with us during check-in. She gave us our choice of floor, and placed us with some distance from other occupied rooms to minimize noise for all concerned. I appreciated the thought that went into that.

The room was very nice - things were clean and in good condition, bathroom was well lit, large counter, and good shower (plenty of hot water & pressure was good). Bed was comfortable but firm. Plenty of lights in the room, but unlike other hotels didn't appear to have converted over to CFL bulbs.

WiFi worked well.

2 criticisms: 1) TV channels and 2) HVAC unit. The TV was an older CRT set. While we were excited to see HBO when we first turned the set on, trying to channel surf proved frustrating as there were many channels of nothing but static. Not sure why non-existent channels weren't skipped in the programming. For the HVAC unit, this is apparently a common unit for hotels to use, as we ran into this same noisy unit at other hotel chains in other states on this trip. This unit was controlled by the touchpad on the unit, but the unit is pretty loud when it kicks on to cool the room. The temperature was fairly even coming out of it while it was on.

The location of this hotel was very convenient - right off the highway - but wasn't so close as to get a lot of highway noise. The hotel is built on a new service road that features 2 gas/convenience stations, one of which housed a White Castle restaurant. It was within easy walking distance of the hotel. Didn't appear to have anything else that was nearby.

Continental breakfast was pretty good. Plenty of selection for cereal, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, juices, coffee, etc. TV in the room, and had plenty of seating.

Check out was very convenient - receipt was placed under door the morning of checkout.

We stayed in this hotel on our way from Davidson North Carolina to Minneapolis. When we checked in and entered the room I immediately smelled the cigarette smell. The front desk staff then changed our room to a non smoking but still there was a hint of some smell in the corridor and the room. The rooms itself is spacious. The air condition/fan makes a loud noise even when put in low. The queen beds are big but the blanket and pillow had some kind of musty smell. I have allergies and cannot sleep well when there is a musty odor. Morning breakfast was ok.

Made a possibly very bad vacation--turn out o.k. car broke down by gas station around corner, manager there, let us keep it there until weekend was over--he was great also. Owner let us check out late while he gave my husband and child a ride to Louisville to rent car on a Sunday! A great person with a good heart! Thanks you!
